Do you prefer to sleep in a little light or total darkness?

I love it when my bedroom is nice and dark. I dont really mind a little soft light but I am all for being engulfed in the dark and falling asleep. What about you? Are you afraid of the dark?

I like complete darkness, but rarely get it now. My son has a nightlight, and the soft light does come into our bedroom. The other thing is that I bought a new digital alarm clock, and it doesn't have a dimmer switch, and that seems to light up the whole room. So much so, that I have to turn it to face the bedhead just to make the room darker!

My wife actually has a pair of those night time eye covers, whatever they're called, so maybe I should try them. She certainly doesn't use or need them, I think she could just about sleep standing up, LOL!

Ah. Sounds like a little misery to me. Whenever I cant avoid sleeping where the lights or out I try to cover my eyes with the sheets but that poses a breathing problem. I am usually miserable like that. Thanks for sharing (lol)

I also like it to be really dark when I go to sleep. I guess if I was very sleepy, then I might be able to fall asleep in the light, but I think I fall asleep much more quickly if it is dark. I usually try to make the room as dark as I possibly can before going to bed. It really helps me to relax and sleep better. Also, I think it eliminates other distractions, cause that way I can't see everything around me, so there's really nothing for me to do but fall asleep! :)

Thanks for sharing Elisa. You seem to love the dark a bit more than I do. I only try to block out more light if the curtains are thin and let in excess light. If its a drape and a little light filters through that is ok with me as long as it does not fall directly across my face. (lol)

I can not sleep at all if the room is completely dark. I need to see some light from somewhere. I get some light from the street light outside that shines in my window, if this light was off then I would have to use a little night light.

In any circumstances, if I'm tired and sleepy, I can sleep with or without light. The beauty of it is that I am not thinking of anything I can lost when asleep. So I usually sleep peacefully whenever I feel sleeping. I am not afraid of the dark because in my heart, the Light is with me!

Hi Danzer. I do fall asleep inthe light sometimes but I'd have to have been reading or was very tierd. When I wake up in the bedroom and see the light on it makes me feel as if I hadnt really gone to bed.

I am only afraid of the dark if I am sleeping in a new place. When I first met my fiance and started spending nights with him, I was a bit afraid. Not so very much because I had him to hold me, but I was still a little afraid. He has a boot light in his room (which is now our room) that gave out light.

Now that strange bed thing I can relate to. It is always a challenge unless I am really bushed and sleep just dominates. Good thing hubby was there for you .

I prefer to sleep in total darkness. It will bring me into a very deep and nice sleep. A little light won't be a problem, as long as it's not too bright. It would be hard me to fall asleep when the light is on. I have to cover my eyes with something to keep it shut then I can sleep. If I wake up with lights on, it would make me feel like I haven't slept at all. Somehow it feels like daylight. And No, I'm not afraid of the dark.

I tend to sleep with a little light since I have blinds in my windows rather than curtains, so a little natural light gets through on a morning and street lights on a night. Complete darkness doesn't bother me, unless I am trying to cross my room and I am scared I will stub my toe, so I turn the TV on for light.

I like to sleep with the lights off. Not really used to or cant really sleep with the lights on. Unless I have to stay in a hotel room by myself or something then I'd leave a few lights on.

I absolutely love the dark, but I have to sleep with our curtains and blinds open, so that the sunlight comes in in the morning, or I am unable to wake up from an intensely deep sleep =P

That happens to me sometimes as well, especially if I went to bed really late. Then I will need the sun on my face or a bright light to help me out of my slumber. Thanks for sharing Malyck. (lol)

I would always prefer to sleep with the lights off. I am a little sensitive to having lights on and I will usually find it difficult to sleep. Unless i am very very tired, even with the lights on, I would just fall asleep.
