Which do you prefer to drive? I only have my automatic licence so i have to say auto although I have tried driving a manual before. It sems like more fun to drive and I am thinking about getting my manual licence so maybe I can get a manual transmission car in the future. Most of friends tease me for only driving automatic cars because they all say how fun it is to drive manuals.
Which do you prefer?

I am automatic as I do not know how to drive a manual. My hubby wants to teach me some day cause he wants to buy a manual some day.

I learned to drive in a Manual car,(UK) and have never owned an Automatic-However,when visiting in the US,I've driven Automatics, and being on the "Wrong" side of the car, find the Auto less hassle! Still wouldn't buy one at home, though.

AFAIK,in the UK,if you pass your test on an Auto,You're restricted to driving Auto. If you pass your test in a Manual, you can drive either. Most People here in the UK would be driving Manual.

I like driving a manual. YOu are more in tune with the vehicle, and I have noticed that I am more aware when things aren't right, so I know to take it in for preventative care. They are also easier to work on in your own time.

Where I am at, Michigan in the U.S., you don't need a different license for manual or automatic. It is recommended to know how to drive both, but not required. Most often people will drive an automatic. I know how to drive both. It like driving a manual more simply because I feel more in tune with the car, and I feel more a part of the driving experience. My husband, and my ex-husband, can't drive "a stick", as we call it here. I taught myself, and if my husband knew how to drive a stick, we'd probably have that kind of car.

i love driving an automatic transmission car than the manual transmission car. my sister drives a manual car and she tried teaching me, it was so hard it gave me a headache everytime i try to learn it. when i got my automatic car it only took me 3 to 5 days to learn it, it was so easy.

For i went to school first before getting drivers liscence, and the car that my teacher uses to teaches me is manual gear car, which is ok then, but when i know about the automatic car it makes me smile,, manual is really conflicated but is good to know how it works and makes more easier to drive by automatic which is better.but beware driving safety is regardless with auto or manual gear. be a good driver atleast to lessen the drivers traffic rule violator.

Either one works for me. It seems manual transmission is better on gas mileage but I drive an automatic. My next car may be manual though if the gas prices keep going.

manual and auto competion
manual goes faster in pickup and gives a huge lot of pleasure whereas auto has no tension on boring gear shifts and has its own pleasure
a person can make out best mileage from his cer using a manual drive rather using a automatic drive
atlast as a matter of pleasure one must go for automatic drive while to have better performance and some pleasure one should go for manual drive
and the one i prefer is automatic i love it 1 thing more friend in my country 1 doesnt need seperate licenses for auto n manual!!!!!!!

I perfer to drive an automatic even if it is fun to dirve a manual I perfer not to be having to change gears and mess you know. I guess it would get on my nerves after a while. Either that or I am not used to it. It is also a pian when you first learn and it turns of on you. I remember I saw an accident happen when a lady was not abelt to turn her truck on and she got hit in the side. I knwo wiht and automatic I could speed out of that place quick. TOday was prom night and boy did we have a nice LIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say manual driving gets much fun, but auto has advantages when driving downtown. I prefer manual when I have a long trip. :)

I've driven both a manual and an automatic. I have to say I prefer the mindlessness of an automatic. I once burned out a clutch in a manual transmission. I also don't like the feeling of drifiting back when you are on a hillside that comes with having a manual transmission car. I don't think I would ever go back to a manual.

I prefer the Manual because it makes me concentrate on wheels, it also makes me feel in control of the entire car, including the fuel consumption. The auto is good and easy to drive but to much of it makes me forget about the clutch on the manual and it also makes me sleepy whilst driving.

I prefer auto, only because I can't figure out how to do manual. I kill the car every time.
