Do you think it is against God to get your tubes tied or to get a vasectomy? God says he will never give you more than you can handle. Do you think it is an act of untrust for God if you do that? OR do you think it is sensible, and something God would support?

The Word says; 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
I hear that scripture misquoted a lot, I don't cast stones, I've done it myself. But what it's saying is, God doesn't PUT anything bad on us. For the believer, He is true and just. He will not ALLOW more to come against us than we can stand.
He has also gave us common sense and a freewill. I believe He wants and expects us to use wisdom in all we do. Anyone who continues to have children they cannot provide for is not using wisdom. And anyone who says they love children so much they want many even though they can't provide for them is thinking of themselves, not the children who will have to do without. I think these forms of birth control are a blessing. And perfectly okay with God

Definitely not. I think it would be against God for people to be going out and reproducing beyond their control to the point where the kids aren't fed or dressed properly.
SO God says he'll never give you more than you can handle? I think this picture proves that that statement is not true.

Why does God care how many children you decide to have? I never did understand that. Although there may be a god, we do have freewill...he doesn't control what we can and can not do. We set ourselves up for that.

That is a rather interesting question. I never really thought about it before. But I think God would understand a couple taking precautions to not having anymore children.

I don't think it is at all a act against God. I mean my mother had one done after she had my younger sister. I think because she was going through menopause and didn't see the need for anymore childern. I also had a friend that had it done after giving birth to 5 childern.

Your comments remind me of the story of the man who locked himself in a room and refused help from others, stating that God would take care of him. God can only do so much. I think that unless God wants to come down here and raise your children for you, then there is nothing wrong with preventing an unwanted pregnancy. I think it is almost cruel to bring children into the world when a person has no way to care for them and will not care for them properly. I think God understands that. I know how some people will say that it is against Christianity to use birth control and such, but those people aren't exactly banging down doors to take care of unwanted children are they? Many people think that the birth control is evil because it "kills babies" but this is not true. It simply prevents a female from dropping an egg. There is no fertilized egg that comes out at the end of each month. This is a myth that churches like to tell their followers to stop them from using birth control. A woman having her tubes tied is sort of a permanent version of this. The tubes are tied and simply prevent anymore eggs from reaching the uterus. God never said that you couldn't have your tubes tied. With modern medicine, questions like these can't really be answered in the Bible.

I think it is very sensible! If no one did so the populations would all explode to the point of danger.. I once watched a show where this couple did so many things right, as far as environment, and home schooling and many other things, but they had like a dozen or more kids (all beautiful of course) but I couldn't help thinking how they weren't doing all things quite so perfectly as they thought! (However, once a new life has been conceived I do not believe it is right to do away with them for reasons of population! don't get me wrong!) I don't understand the Catholic Church's stance on the matter of birth control! well, I understand perhaps they want many wonderful Catholic offspring.. yet I disagree with the wisdom of this stance.

I think even if you get your tubes tied that if your meant to have a child it will still happen. My Mom and her friend both had their tubes cut and tied at a hospital in Texas. Her friend bacame pregnant with her last child some 5 years later. It was a shock to say the least but eveidently it was meant to be.
