i don't think so! i am a nurse who has a lot of friends who are doctors and even if the demand for shifting their career into nursing is dramatically getting its peak, still they choose to stay in our country (Philippines) and serve the public particularly the most needy according to their oath as doctors. and i admire them for that! probably, there are some who are after the income but still there are lots who are passionately patriotic to serve!

Becoming a doctor is I think equivalent to becoming an MBA holder that is equals business. But there are good doctors who are making positive output out of their medical business.
I became a patient for several times and hospitalized I think 3 times in my life. One of which was the worst confinement ever that I never ever met my physician for his rounds but his Fellow or student medical doctors. He charged me for my hospitalization at around $250.00 in 4 days. Wondering why must a doctor do that to me so I complained and bring it to a proper legal forum. He was such a neglectful doctor that he did not even relieved my ordinary influenza. I had to complain for the malpractices and unethical treatment on me as patient. I never wanted to be hospitalized with her Fellow's opinions that I had to pay much.
For myself as person who also have worked in a hospital, I know how patients invested their patience from their consultants. Often doctors are acting like they are elite. Although some are humble and good doctors. I would say that nasty doctors are not school trained rather that is their natural skills to be neglectful and impeacable.
I admire that you are a good doc, somiran. Keep up the good job.

I am in the United States and i think medicine is like any field (it just takes longer to perpare for) There are good doctors that really care about helping people and there are those that went into it for other reasons (money, family pressure, whatever)and at times these few dosen't really like what they are doing give the rest a bad name.
