It used to be that just having an AA or BA was a great educational goal for a well paid job. When I changed careers in the 2000's I found I needed a Masters to stay at the same income level for all my work experience.
I decided to get the degree and it has provided me with a better paying job. Have you experienced a return on your investment with a degree leading to a better job?

I needed my MA degree and a state license to get my job.
I am glad that I have both of them.
I though am hoping for a better job, one with benefits to go along with perhaps part time writing and independent contractor work.

I know that it would not be any better to have a Ph.D. but would get a lot more CEUs if I could afford them and would also perhsps see about getting something like a pupil services credential if I find that having one would be a good idea... It looks now, from hearing about our State's budget that I am glad I did not go to work for the school districts earlier as a lot of teachers all over Calfornia and of course the support staff too are getting pink slips.

Yes, even if I am working in a call center, my position here is an IT agent who supports routers, swithes and computers so I got a job that is inline with my course. Cheers!

I have 2 Masters Degrees and both led to Career advancement. The investment I made paid off in a salary increase plus an increase in my retirement also. I will be benefiting from the investment for the rest of my life.

I got my Paralegal degree and then I went to get my B.A. My Paralegal degree helped me when I was in that field and I got my B.A. to get out of that field. I'm a stay at home dad so my degree is in hiatus right now. Pretty soon a B.A. will be like a high school dipolma.
