Did you know that you stand a much better chance to be healthy if you eat food that is grown locally. If yuou have hayfever and eat local grown honey it will help to cure it, if you eat local grown vegetables you will get the most enetgy from the fact that they are local.Your food will not have travelled far and will still hold essence of its energy. The benefits of eating local food are considerable compared with eating food out of your country. Yes at ceratin times of the year we want to have fruit from tropical places but on average eat only local food to give you optimum health and also help the local people who produce it.

You are so so very right!! I guess the basic definition is that Local food is more than likely naturally grown whereas other foods are stuff with steroids or other chemicals that keeps in preserve for longer amounts of time for store and shelf time. I guess thats why so so many people are turning to Organic food now. True it does cost so much more but the outcome of you eating these types of foods is a great one. Thanks for posting this!!

hello punkin
thanks for that - there is also the facts that the local farmers are also supported and that if you can go to farmers markets which I know is not easy but if you can - you also get to know the people who grow and cut and prpare the products and this just opens another door to connecting with your community and gives you the chance to tell them what you like and what you want from them. Oh this connecting with people is so important it helps us to feel good about ourselves and passing that onto others is a bonus.
Thanks for your response!

I try to eat the local food. It tastes much better and it usually is better quality. Sometimes going to the local butcher is a tad more expensive than at the grocery store, but it tastes so much better, no additives. Most meats you but at the grocery store even says on the label that a solution is added. All that primarily does is add weight. We just got done planting our vegetable garden so we will be eating very local in a few months. I also like to help the local farmers and buy directly from them.

good for you , yes the additives, and homone injections given to meat is horrendous. I bet you cannot wait to eat the food you are growing and apart from helpng out the local farmers etc, you get to have a great deal of fun and enjoyment not to mention rewading nutritional goal when you grow your own produce. Well done - thansk for the post

i have never heard that before but wheneveri think about it i guess that it is true because like i have gotten tomatoes out of the store and they aren't really good or that god for you, and then i have bought them off of some people that i know that grow them in like a garden and it was actually better and it seemed to be a little better for me...so i guess that it is true

yes the truth is in your tadtes buds which are incredfibly sensitive and tell you what is good quality, what is bland and out of date.
Local grown foods have a special tastes that is vibrant, energetic and very very nutrious.
But ultimately it is the way it tastes that make all the differnec - keep buying local and reap the benifits.
Thanks for your response
