With these crazy gas prices, do you still fill up your gas tank or do you put 10 or 20 dollars in at a time.
Montrealers are going for the 20 dollars or so, not filling up their tanks, because they cannot afford to, or they are waiting for a the prices to drop,
what about you are you still filling up your tank? Why or why not?

i know that it isn't really easy for anyone to fill their tanks up with gas even the celebs have started talkign about how hard it was with gas prices now...i mean i remember hwen you coudl use to fill your car up for like thirty dollars and that won't ever happen again in my opinion because that was a long time ago..but i know that gas prices are outragous...

yep you got that right, but my cousin says she still only pays 30 a week for gas but she doesn't go very far with her car though.

Nope, the subway cars fill up their tanks for me. Here is one thing I am so happy about living here in the city about, public transportation. I am a "green" person to a point. I do not go overboard, so I know even if I had a car, I would still ride the sub. It gets a bit hairy during rush hour but who can beat $4.00 to go from home to uptown and back.
I do wish with the prices going up that more places had what we have here. I know that it is not completely possible. I have lived in Alaska, Maine, and Colorado, so I know that transportations for rural areas are hard.
I also walk all over the city, so I get my exercise and see the beauty around me.

I have to drive to and from clients. When I am down to a quarter of a tank, I fill it up. It does cost me about $40 every time I fill it, but it is necessary. Without my car, I am not making money.

I know so many people have to rely on their car to get to work and back.

I go for the $10. or $20. as I cannot afford to fill up the tank. I find that I am also not just getting into my car and driving to the store for something that is not really necessary.

We are doing just $20 here and there. To fill up our truckes cost 80-100 dollars. These prices are ridiculous. We only go where we need to go. Or plan everything on one day. Gas here is $3.66-$3.79 a gallon.

We fill up all the time. But we also don't let our tank get below half a tank. You can screw up your gas system going over bridges in certain vehicles. But anyway that is a different matter. We also live in the country and I part time in the city. I rather have gas than no gas at all. With living in the country we have gas tanks right in our yard as we are farmers and get cheaper gas than actual gas when you do it in bulk. We fill all the tanks take the cost and split it between my fiance and myself and my mother and father in law. Cuts down alot of fuel costs thats for sure.

Well because my van is the primary family vehicle sadily 20-30 bucks is not enough we have to fill it every time. But what we do is only let it go to half a tank then we top it off so it only ends up being 20-30 any way but if we dont keep it topped off then we will never get through the week.

30 dollars a week is still reasonable in montreal, by friend goes through about 30 every second day for his truck.

You said it, CRAZY gas prices. We used to pull into gas stations and fill our car's tank. Now we pull into the gas station, look at the price on the pump, begin to hyperventilate and then cry! Now we only get as much gas as we can afford at the time. However, with the prices rising daily, I suppose if one could afford it, it would be wise to fill one's tank as the cost to fill the tank tomorrow will surely be greater. It is such a sad state of affairs and I really don't foresee the situation getting better.

I ususally fill up my tank completely when I have to make a trip home. However, I think I'm just going to start putting a few dollars in at a time. I'm tired of being broke over gas prices when in reality, it's just not even worth it. I keep hoping they go down and I know they aren't, but it never hurts to wish and pray. Maybe if everyone stopped filling their tanks up all the time, we'd get some price relief.

Some people are saying you need a national boycott and then the big companies will put down their crazy prices.

To be honest, no I don't....To fill up my tank would cost about $50 ( I drive an older minivan) and the thing always breaks...and it seems that every time it broke - I had all kinds of gas in the tank just sitting there and then I couldn't afford gas money to give someone for a ride....
So now I only put in what I need since I never know when the thing is going to give out and die....hehehe

I just fill up while I am at the pumps. I don't want to have to make an extra trip to the station to get gas, it kind of defeats the purpose. It doesn't seem like the prices are going down any how so once again you might as well fill up while you are there. I do a lot of travel for my job so I do get a chance to get it cheaper every so often and I take advantage of that. I try to save fuel other ways like: I try not to speed anymore, I take it slower at acceleration, get what I need at the store on my route on my way home from work.

I don't drive very much. My hubby filled up my car about 6 weeks ago and since then, I've only added about $7. It's down below 1/4 tank now, though, and today is his payday. I think I'll have him fill it up again.

We never fill up our gas tank. My husband works close to home now, thank God. We can only afford to put in $20.00 at a time and it barely registers on tha gas guage. We only get gas when we have to go to the grocery or something like that. I do not even know how much it would cost these days to fill up. My husband and I tried to figure it up earlier on the average car and it would cost about $108.00 to fill up a 30 gallon tank. That is outragious. I remember that $20.00 used to fill our car up.

We go once a week over to St. Louis which is about forty miles to fill up the gas tank. It is cheaper over there and my husband buys his cigerettes at the same time because they also are cheaper than where we live. We are lucky in the fact that we both work in the city that we live. It doens't even take us five minutes to get to work. So the gas in the car doesn't get used up real quick. We stay at home so the gas is stretched out.

We never fill the tank up unless we are going on holiday and then we do. I do not drive, my hubby does and he just puts what he knows he will use each week in, we just cannot afford to put loads in at a time, it is ridiculous how much it all costs now.
It is perhaps a good job I do not drive and have my own car as I would not be able to run it anyway.
