Well, it is that time of the year again! I went to four yard sales today and I must say that I purchased something from everyone of them. I bought some nice Levi's for 25 cents per pair and I bought a brand new dress for $1.00. It still has tags on it!!
I also bought a snowman purse and a snowman that plays a keyboard and sings and he can be hooked to an MP3 player.
I also bought some kids clothes, books, and got my daughter some nice home decor items as she is 17 and will be moving out before long.
Have you been to a sale yet? If so, did you buy anything? I will be looking for more tomorrow!!

It is hard to go now that gas is so high. It seems like you about have to hit neighborhood sales in order to go as it takes so much money to drive around. However, I like to go and I don't think that I will stop anytime soon.

That's phenomenal. It's garage sale season year
round here, because of the mild weather.
I haven't been to one in ages, should really find a good one
this summer. Once I got a real India silk two
piece blouse and skirt for a dollar at a church yard sale. It was so pretty and I got
so many compliments.
Plus I got a two piece woman's business suit for two dollars
once and got many raves on that as well.
I have found kids toys and such and those
are lots of fun for my child.
Thanks for the fun chat.
Have a beautiful day and happy shopping!

My husband likes to drive by and it drives me crazy as he expects me to look as he drives by to see if I see anything. Of course, I see something but I don't know if there are things there that I want or not.

I have went to one sale this year here in west virginia. it was rather disappointing though. nothing of interest to me or my husband. does your husband or SO go along with you. we make it a family affair and my younger kids call it "treasure hunt day". my husband hated them until he had knee surgery and would go with me for the company, we took walkie talkies so i could hear him if he needed something, and he would say, whats that red thing over there? whats this? whats that? and then when he could get out and about he started see what all those things were, and goes with me every time now. it makes a great family day! cant wait for more!!!
good luck on your hunts everyone!

Sorry that yours was disappointing. My husband does occasionally go with me and my kids go with me most of the time. It is nice to spend the day together with family.

Yes, the garage sales have begun here too! Wow - Levi's for a quarter??? That's amazing! WTG! :) I have picked up a few items so far this summer. Probably my favorite buy was a set of baskets on a wire frame that stands about 2 1/2 feet tall for $3.00. I've also managed to find some cute clothes for my girls at .25 cents apiece too. Yea!!
Happy Garage Sale Shopping everyone!

I haven't seen one yet this year. I can't wait till they start popping up. Maybe I'll get lucky this weekend since the weather should be nice.
I am still learning my area so I don't know where all the "good" ones are yet. I am hoping I'll get the areas straight this year.
By the way you did good!

You know, I have not been to a garage sale in years. So last summer, I decided to go and check one out. I was very disappointed at the prices. I felt they were asking way too much for everything, and because of that experience I have not been to another one. However, seeing what kind of deals you and the others have posted, I think I owe it to myself to try again this year! I do shop at our local Salvation Army Thrift store, and can find some amazing deals there as well. Mom 2 Mom sales are really good too if you need to shop for smaller children. Anyway, you have inspired me to start looking for local garage sales again and if I can score a good deal at any, I'll let you know!

Good luck with your search for good deals at the sales. I have been to sales where I wondered why the people thought that the stuff that they had was worth so much.

I have not been to any garage sales in years. We live out in the country and there aren't many close houses to us where we could go to any without spending a ton in gas. I have found some bargains over the years though but right now we really don't have to have those types of things. We have to hold onto our money for other things right now.

I was thinking about the gas yesterday. The ones yesterday were close but I was thinking about all the driving I do for sales and what it will cost in gas. I hope to find plenty of neighborhood sales this year!!

I haven't been to one yet this year. But there is alway one or two every weekend. I need a new toaster and know you can usually get a pretty decent one at a yard sale. so i'm sure very soon i'll be hitting one up.
I need to go through some stuff and have my own yard sale. It was hard for me last year to have because i worked on the weekends, but now i'm not working and should have the time to do one this year.

Good luck on your search for a toaster. I do think that you can find some good stuff like that at sales. I like auctions for household items too.
I had a sale last year but I didn't think that I done as well as I wanted and it was a lot of work to get things ready.

Wow, those are some great deals!
I haven't been to any here in Ohio yet and I was hoping to this weekend when we have to go to the next town on an errand, but I think we're supposed to have thunderstorms off and on all weekend.

Yes, I was thrilled with the deals that I got. I hear that the weather here in the midwest in not to be the best this weekend. Plus, it is too be cold here.
I hope it isn't too bad as my youngest daughter is on her first campout with girl scouts.

I went to a rummage sale today. The garage sales are still sparse here, as the weather is just starting to get good. But I bought about 10 books for .35 a piece, I got my son a toy dump truck for a quarter, and 5 glass jello cups since I have been trying to create sugar free deserts with pudding and jello. I got all 5 of them for $1.00. There is another rummage sale at a different church tomorrow, I go there every year it is the best one of the year so I am looking forward to going there, I did see a couple of garage sales today, but didn't have time to stop, I might hit them tomorrow after the rummage sale if I have time, but the kids have a half day of school tomorrow, so time will be limited.

I haven't had the opportunity to go too much. I did find some split skirts for my daughter to take with her on her mission trip to Mexico along with some cool cotton blouses to go with each of them. The weather where she is spending the summer is so much hotter than here in Arkansas

I love garage sales! Some are nicely priced. I have been to some though that are so high priced it was rediculous. Funny too for what it was.
