If you can go to the past...

I think many people have thought of such a question. What do you think? I mean what do you think will happen? How do you discribe the relationship between now and the past?
Whether you will change the history?
Whether the "NOW" is already the result including your "going back" event?
Whether you will immediately die if you kill the past "you"?
......
Just tell what's in your mind about this question if you have thought about it before or not.

Hello Izjilbb,
Whatever happens today is not the end result of my past. I don't like to think about the past. Whatever it is, I think there is good and bad aspects of the past. One thing for sure, if I get what I want from the past, I won't have the chance to experience the happiest moment in my present life.

Hehe, I think if I can go back, I will also choose not to change anything at all. But this is not my question.
What I want to discuss here is the opinion about how time funtions. It is changeable or not? All everytime you go back, the present world will change or just a new world is created?
It's more a philosophy question.
