I saw a couple on the news tonight who were celebrating 80 years of marriage. Most people in my family barely live half that long. These two seemed to be still in love and in their right minds too. He is 106 and she is 97 years old. They were celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in Italian. She said that the years went by quickly. "Time flies when you are having fun."

WOW, 80 years! How did they do it? I couldn't even stay married to my ex for more than 2 years. Its truly a blessing to live that long and to be in your right mind.

Well I have never been married at all. I would love to be married for 80 years to a wonderful man. Is that too much to hope for?

Isn't that sweet, I love seeing older couples who still are in love. They look so cute together holding hands and walking arm in arm.

Imagine waking up to the same face every day for 80 years. Most people don't even live that long. I wonder if they often went on separate vacations or something. I once took care of a couple who had been married for sixty-two years. They were so cute together. Each morning one of them would pray and the next day the other one would. I lived with my ex-boyfriend for nine years and I swore that I never wanted to know anyone that well again. I have since changed my mind. I now think that it is kind of cool.

I think that is amazing, especially with so much divorce in the world. To be married that long and still in love. See America, it can be done. You can find the right person and make it work. That touches my heart because I'm a big softy for seeing elderly people showing signs of affection, like holding hands. Congragulations to them.

It was really cool to see them laughing and kissing each other. I was truly special. I totally agree with you. When you find the right person and married them for the right reason, it can last a lifetime.

I really enjoyed seeing that story because it reminded me that true love is definitely possible. I can not wait until my true love comes along. I wonder how long we will be together???

Whoa! I'll be lucky to live to be eighty years old. I can't imagine being married that long! Still... Good for them! That is a beautiful story. Those are the kind of people that die within minutes of one another.

It is a cool story. And you are right, after all this time I do not believe that one could live without the other.
