Have you experienced any culture differences, or even culture shocks?

I grew up in one county in the Philippines, a pretty conservative area (that was year 80’s), but I was raised as a sort of hippie, so I always felt cultural differences growing up when I brought my lunch to school, dressed, introduced anyone to my parents. etcetera
Now I live in Los Angeles, which has also been hugely different from where I grew up, and I work in an predominately black inner city neighborhood, which is also a lot different from anywhere I've ever spent much time.
Please share your experience with me?

I expected a lot when I moved from my sheltered life in England to live in the desert in Southern Africa. But I didn't find any - I waited and waited but it just wasn't to be. I think it may have been helped though because I was living in a small town there, and not in some of the more rural areas of the country. I also assumed that when I returned to England I would get some form of return cultuire shock as they call it because of what I'd grown accustomed to - but I didn't get that either. Maybe the next time I venture out there I'll be less lucky...
