I was quite surprise knowing how few people actually know what is a borneo tattoo. I had 2 borneo tattoo so far, and I know what is a borneo tattoo and the meaning on some of the designs and why is it a a dying tradition and why the Ibans (a tribe in Sarawak, Malaysia) had it done for. Maybe I might have some meaning wrong, I would love to have some of you to share any information about this dying tattoo tradition.

I don't know about it no - but I'm interested. Any info you could share would be great. I refuse to get another tattoo until I can find something I really like, and means something to me. So the floor is open to you darshikie :)

Well...a borneo tattoo is a spiritual art form that merges images of a human, animal and plant into one unit, expressing the proliferation of the life and the integration of the living and the spiritual beings. Its mostly done by the Iban tribe from Sarawak, Malaysia.
Having a borneo tattoo, to me, is like inscribing implicit the Iban ideologies on me. You could see some of the artwork at:-

It is wise to actually think of what design and what the a tattoo means to you before you end up getting one and regretting about it. I have a borneo scorpion on my back, a symbol of protection as a tattoo of the dragon or a tiger to some. a vine crawling up my left calf, symbolize my growth, maturity in life and work.. love life, etc.
