I live in a developing country and most of us yearn for material wealth. I am an organizational communication major in one of the top private universities here in my country and one of my wildest dreams is to be successful in my respective field someday and that includes being materially wealthy. I want to be able to provide for myself. There is nothing wrong with wanting to get rich as long as you are not stepping on anyone or make use of illegal meansto earn money.

Well, now that this is being asked...i'd have to say no cause i know alot of people that are actually not to happy becuase they have to much money and are just so sick of money that they have nothing else to do. All they do is spend or get money. Most of the richies i know are not to bad with the way they do it. i would have to say that being rich would be nice but its not the only thing thats going to make you happy.

Hi me too always wanted to be rich. I wanted that I should be so rich so that I could help other needy people on this world in some or the other way. So that I could also spend some for charity etc.

when i was a kid, i've dreamed of becoming rich and buying all the things i want. i wanted my mother to stop working and enjoy living in luxury as an exchange for working hard for our, her children, sake. i also dreamed of becoming successful in my work but that's only number two. my number one dream was really to become rich to provide all my family's need and have all i want and go wherever we want to go.

In childhood, I never thought about money as anything really important. My father was famous for saying, "No work, no eat" a lot. But, I still didn't view money or wealth as some great thing to be obtained.
When I thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up, it was always, "something interesting". I thought about becoming a cultural anthropologist (though I didn't know what it was called at the time), a writer, a teacher, even an actress or a singer. But, it was always because these were things that I was truly interested in doing with my life. It was never because I was under the impression that I would have a lot of money if I did these things.
I remember, at one point, I wanted to be a police officer, so that I could (and I quote) "protect my family".
"Success", to me, is being content with the direction your life has taken. It has little to do with money, promotions, publications, etc. But, it has everything to do with whether or not you'd do it all over again, given the opportunity. And, I've made a LOT of mistakes, but I can say that I would do it all over again, because I am content, for the most part, with who I am and where my life has gone. So, I would say that I am very successful.

I have not always wanted to be rich, but I do know that it would be great if I were to be rich. It's like I don't make it a point to think about money and richness all the time. That's because I know that money is the root of all evil and that because of money, people tend to fight with one another; even family members.
In worst cases, it may even cause disputes until to the point of lawsuits.

I've always noticed that money changes people. The ones who receive later in life are most likely to change than the ones born into it. I don't want to be rich at all. I want to be well off so I could buy the things I want and not have to worry about bills and such.

yes, i want to a rich person not only because my individual obsession, but also the best for people surround me and our environment. here there are lot of potential and smart people that able to help the country, but the problems is they don't have enough money to get a good education, and also the disaster sometimes occur caused by the bad environment, such lack of trees, open space, trash that dumped everywhere. And i really obsessed to be a rich person so with money i can handle those problems

In my childhood, I never had the concept of rich and poor. And I have not the idea either. But now, I nearly reach to 30 yrs old. I know I have the responsibility to maintain my family. In the next one year or two, I will get married, and care for my wife and baby. I don't expected to be very rich, but at least I need enough money to give my wife and baby a stable life.

Before my only wish is that to have a house that doesn't leak when it's raining, to have enough food on the table and to always have my whole family beside me. Now i wanted to be rich so that i can give my family a taste of the good life. I wanted them to experience going to other places. I also wanted to help people especially those who are sick. It's really heartbreaking to see a loved one sick and you cannot do anything to help them because you don't have the resources. It's also good to have money to pay bills on time.
