God and what is believed

I was reading the quote from
Dan Jackson in the O magazine.
It made me think....
I am Bahai as some of you know.
This is my belief.....for nearing 30 years
This is personal...between me and God
My parents were Da= catholic and Ma= Baptist
both are fine but didn't fit me and
I can only believe what I CAN believe
and I realized that soooooo many people
out there think they will get to Heaven
on the "grandfather clause"
And I realized for my parents to have
strong faith wasn't enough...I won't
be grandfathered in due to family ties
so I searched and found something I believe in.
Please come to this discussion with respect..
This is a discussion and not meant to offend
anyone..Everyone has a right to believe
what they believe without being picked on.
"I cannot hold up any book and say, 'Here. This is what I believe.' I do not know of any church where I would feel at home. But I do believe that what people call God refers to something real... I would even go so far as to say that this God of mine makes demands. To learn, to teach, to engage. To be aware of and respect the world around me. To acknowledge that there are things greater then myself and to be humble in their presence." -- Dan Jackson

I think true spirituality is a personal journey and is not found in the doctrine of a church but in the knowing and willing heart to come learn, feel and believe in God.

well, this is is believe and until convinced otherwise there may be nothing anyone can do,religion or faith as it is can be very intoxicating especially when it teaches fanatism.
