School Days

As the big yellow school bus stopped, we jumped off.
We walked down the tracks on the busy 311 toward home.
It took 20 minutes to walk at a steady pace to get home.
We lived in a split level house down below Glenola Baptist Church.
On days when my brother and sister were not at school, it was scary to walk to the tracks alone.
We kept watch for people that could stop and pick us up.
When we got home, Mom always called to see if we were alright.
During the time we were waiting for Mom to get home, my brother was in charge.
We always argued about who's day it was to do the dishes. The house had to be clean, when Mom got hom.
This is part of the poem that I wrote. I could not fit all of it on the photo. I hope that everyone will tell me there views from their school days.

It brings me back to my childhood days...On the bus so crowed with other children...All the yelling and screaming...Fighting and playing on the bus mde me miss my mom even more.I just wanted to be with her in the quiet.Me and my sister setting so still counting down to the next stop which would be our stop home. The bus stops and we look at each other and just smile.Jump off the bus and run so free up the long dirt drive way.Run to our house running to our family...Running just because we was free from school and the loud mean bus...Running into the house and mama standing in the kitchen...The smell of the kitchen made us hungry.Mama standing by the stove cooking for us...It was sweet those days when I was little and my biggest worrie was getting home to see my mama and watching cartoon's...I miss those days..Thansk for sharing about your life:)
