I've been practicing solitarily for years. I keep finding these "awesome" witch schools, but I don't know who to trust. Everyone is out to make money. I guess the student isn't ready for the teacher? I just live in Tx, I'm from Ny, so finding people, is hard......
Anything, links, people who'd love to help....
I'm an eclectic witch, I'm interested in the Fae....people ask me if I have fairies...
I follow the Wiccan Rede...

I started out as a solitary Wiccan myself. I never realized how much I had actually learned on my own. Any class or school you go to is simply going to restate a LOT of what you already know.
How many years have you been studying?
I found a couple of yahoo groups, that no longer exist now, and met some very nice Pagans in a state not far from where I lived. We began talking online and then a few of us started calling one another. At some point we finally met face to face. This was 11 years ago and we are still very good friends today. My best friend that I met online has been a Wiccan Priestess for more than 15 years now and she is amazing. She taught me by email and phone and by showing me rituals when I went to visit her.
It's hard to find someone to "teach" you but you may find contacts. Look for Pagan meetups in your area on meetup.com. Look for groups on yahoogroups.com. If you make some pagan friends, then you will learn from each other and you will come to a point where you may not feel you need a "teacher".
And feel free to ask me anything you wish. If I have the answer I will give it freely.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone who knows the things I want to learn. I know what areas I'm interested in, but there are some more detailed things I'm dealing with, that an insider might be able to help with....For example astrology...amongst other things..I did enjoy the people I met at meet up, but it seemed like people were unsure why they were really there or still trying to plan things out...

As I said, I may not always have all the answers but you are more than welcome to ask me anything and I will try and find that answer for you if I don't know it. I do know that to begin in astrology you might try getting a book or cd called "the only astrology book you'll ever need". I've always loved astrology and even though I'm still not very proficient with it, this book has been an amazing help to me. Not to mention it is a lot of fun to use. I have even done charts for a couple of my friends using this book.
I wanted to include a link for you but I can't paste here yet. However if you go to Amazon.com and do a search you should find it. Another option to look for books is half.ebay.com. that's where I buy a lot of my books.

About where in Texas? I live in Texas too and might be able to give you some specific resources for the state. Witchvox.com is pretty good resource. So is meetup.com. PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat. I lose track of threads pretty easily here. I personally don't like online or correspondence courses but I know that it's the only option for some.

Oh I do know how that is and finding information isn't always easy. You might find some but it can be very confusing and contradictory. I would suggest checking out the web site "Witches' Voice". It has a lot of great information and links to find even more. It's at least a good place to start.
Something else I'd suggest is the book "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. He writes many books on the subject and he's very good. I really found his book helpful. You can get it off Amazon but it should also be available at the local bookstores.
I wish you luck.

Cunningham has many books but the Solitary one I really enjoyed. It had so much good information in it. I was glad someone on line recommended it to me. Good luck on the search and I hope you find the information you seek.
