Whats the weirdest "accidental pet" story you have?

Everyone I know has acquired a pet through odd reasons, like it just showed up on your door step and you couldnt get rid of it. But for me thats how I get almost all my pets and I was wanted to share some of the ways I have got some and hear other peoples. Rae (Cat): We at one time had a black cat and it was the best cat we had ever had, my mom loved it. Unfortunately he died, and my mom really didnt want to get another pet after that... But a woman she worked with was a crazy cat lady and the police told her she wasnt allowed to keep 30 cats, so she asked my mom to take on. My mom told her that she didnt want a cat and the woman kept bugging her so she told her that she would take a cat if she had a pure black one. So the woman brought my mom a cat who had black fur, black paw pads, black whiskers, and black eyes. He was born with cataracts over his eyes that made them look black. So my mom got her black cat. Fae (Dog): We had gone to my grandmothers memorial and as we were about to leave my uncle came down with a rottweiler puppy and handed her to me saying "here feel better" It upset my mom because she didnt want a dog but how was she supposed to say no. King Kong (Cat): My best friend had asked us to keep a cat for her for a month or two because she had got him and her other cats kept trying to hurt him so she just wanted us to hold onto him until he was a little bigger. We did for a week or two but my parents were getting attached so they told her we couldnt hold onto him anymore, and so she decided she no longer wanted him anymore after that and gave him back to the person who owned the mom. When my parents found out they had me go pick him up. Frankie (Cat): I had went to the humane society to look for one of my cats that had gone missing, and saw a 3 year old Calico who was the sweetest kitty and had a great personality. We tried to adopt her and they wouldnt let us that day and told us to come back the next day, so I went and bought what I would need and decided I was going to name her Freddie. We went back the next day and she had been adopted out to someone else, I was bummed. Later that night my husband and brother in law found a kitten, and brought her inside. It was a 3month old calico with the same markings and colors as the one I wanted to adopt. Needless to say we kept her.
