I like such a variety of movies it's hard for me to say what I prefer, I have seen some horror movies that were so good I watched them more than one time. The ones I do not care for are musicals. They are a thing of the past. That's why I was shocked when I saw Sweeney Todd. Even though it had a good story plot, it sure wasn't what I expected. It is not a movie I could watch a second time. When I was younger most of the movies were musicals and we all liked and accepted them. Later these got less and less and it is rare to find one that has good quality and a good plot or story line. What kind of movies do you prefer to watch?

Well I'm really big on fantasy type movies like Eragon, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of The Rings. Heck I even love kiddie movies...real sucker for most Disney movies period, and of course animal related movies
Yes, I know musicals aren't popular now. I was watching a show on one of the PBS channels, and it was like a collection showing clips from past musicals with some of the great past actors in them like Judy Garland, Gene Kelley, Fred Aster and I was blown away by them...I never had really watched those old movies and thought wow, these actors really WERE great! Especially Judy Garland! I don't think many of today's actors could hold a candle to the former actors of old

I love fantasy movies and books. They have the most intruiging storylines and are very emotional. My favs are Eragon, LOTR, Narnia, and even some of the lesser known ones, like Braveheart and Dragonheart.

I also like lots of movie but the type of movie I like the most is spy movies. I love it.
I also like other types like comedy, love story, or horror but minimal instances that I watch them everytime there's no movie of such. It actually depends more on how the story being created. Even if it's the most boring for others but the thought of the movie for you is good then I considered that as my favorite movie so it really depends.
But spy movies tops it all.

I like the older movies , the classics from the thirties through the seventies . My favorite movies are old westerns , I grew up watching them and I still like westerns today . Todays movies are not very interesting to me to much filth and violent scenes .Thats my story and i'm sticking to it.

I actually like some of the modern musicals that have come out in recent years. Moulin Rouge was a visually stunning movie that held me from the start. I loved loved loved Rent and Chicago. I wasn't thrilled about Sweeney Tood because I know the story and the music well from the stage production and, honestly, they left a good chunk of the story -- at least I think they did -- out of the movie. I also didn't like The Phantom of the Opera. They could have done a better job with that movie. I'm a Broadway baby though so I'm partial to watching movies like this.
However, I do love horror movies and would prefer to watch them more than any other genre.

I don't like to take the movie critics advice even though sometimes they are right on the money. So I'll just go to what looks good to me. Like the movie that came out a few months ago, Vantage Point. It didn't get great reviews, but another mylotter said it was good, so I saw it. And it was good. I prefer action, comedy, romantic comedy, thriller...I don't like a lot of gore in movies, so I stay away from hardcore horror movies.

I think I have no paticular preferrence for movie type. the movies that I watch include musicls, comedies, love stories, fairy tales and so on. Of course, they are some movie types that I can not accept. I dislike horror movies and volient movies which scare me very much. Once after I watched a horror movies, I was haunted with the ghosts and horrible scenes from movies in the following days. I have to admit that I am not very brave to watch such movies and I had better stay away from such movies.
I watch movies according to my feeling sometimes. When I feel very tired, I prefer to watch such comedies and fairy tales to relax myself. when I feel boring, I like to watch adventure or detective films.

I prefer to watch comedy and love stories. I don't like to watch war movies because I can't tolerate the violence.

i enjoy to see comedies! i believed getting into cinema is to get amused, so i wouldnt pick those movies make me feel disgusted or disturbed, those with violence or horror is not my cup of tea!
movies that plainly make me laugh would be the best choice, or movies about good scene come to second!

I love musicals and not only the movies, but the plays..My neighbors daughter is in many of them and I go and see them as much as I can..
I also like movies like Narnia, (Prince Caspian is coming soon.. ) and Lord of the Rings..I am also kind of attached to Pirates of the Caribbean thanks to my daughter, but that is only because she plays them and points out the funny parts..

I like to watch really funny movies or really sad movies...there is no middle ground. it better make me laugh til my sides hurt or reaching for my kleenex box...the best movies tend to do a little bit of both...of course it wildly depends on what my hormones are doing, too...I've cried watching the thanksgiving parade before!!

Nowadays I prefer old pre-1950's movies. I used to love horror movies and still like that genre book but today's "horror" movies are more like excuses to show massive amounts of blood and gore. They ignore the subtle building of suspense and rely on shock.
I don't generally like romances, either, too much graphic physical scenes. I love action movies if there's a lot of action and not many people getting killed.
I guess I'm just an old fogie but I like the old stuff, especially silent movies and early black and whites. They didn't have much to work with, very few special effects, so they had to rely on acting and good storylines to entertain people. Although in some of those old silent movies, the acting is untintentionally funny!

my favorite kind of movie is chick flicks, dramas, such as The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, Atonment, I also love movies based on true stories such as Schindler's List, Hotel Rhownda (sp?), Blood Diamond and the Last King of Scotland. I love movies that make you cry, the sappy ones, and movies that make you cry and think, the ones based on true events. I do like musicals, but only on occasion and I tend to fast forward twenty minute singing segments.
