Did you like Pan's Labyrinth? I absolutely loved it! The movie was so engaging and the line between fable and reality was sometimes invisible. I liked how dark it was, also that movie made me a great fan of Guillermo del Toro. Devil's Backbone is another great movie from him,and The Orphanage just came out recently. How did you feel about the ending? Do you think Ophelia went back to her kingdom or it was all work of her imagination and she just died? Mercedes was amazing and her lullaby almost made me tear up. And that eyeless creature was scarier than any Japanese horror lol

Thats was wuite the weird movie. My husband saw it by himself in the theater and then when it came on PPV I watched it with him. It was okay. I wasn't blown out of the water by it.

In my opinion the golden compass movie was a pile of steaming poo. Everything was out of order, the acting was mediocre. The book was 100 times better. Heck the end was different than the book!

I liked the movie but I haven't read the book. Otherwise I'd probably agree with you,so many relatively good movies suck when compared to the original! I like The Lord of the Rings movie but it's nothing compared to the book. The sad thing is that sometimes once you watch a well known movie you're only able to see stuff the way it is in the movie. For example,I've had different looks in mind for Frodo and Aragorn but now I barely remember what they were like in my mind back in the day!

I have this on DVD and Im eager to watch it but just been busy so haven't had the time. The reviews for this were really good and got me to buy the DVD.
Hopefully sometime next week when Im not that busy anymore, I will be able to finally watch this movie.

Creepy!! It had such an interesting storyline. When we rented it, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not. I think the best thrillers make you think, and the lines are not always clearly marked so there is room for interpretation.
