Indoor or Outdoor Cat

Just wondering if you have an indoor cat or one that goes outside. Our cats are indoor cats because I had read they have a longer life span. They don't get hit by cars, or get lost or come down with as many diseases or pick up parasites. Sometimes I do feel bad though. There my cat will sit by the window and watch the birds and squirrels go by. I swear some of them taunt my cat. So what to you have, indoors and outdoors and why?

My cat used to be an indoor cat, but she has recently had problems with throwing up almost once a day. My mother got angry about the carpets being stained, so she is now an outdoor cat and living quite fine. The only thing she doesn't like is being lonely, but we try to visit her out on the deck a lot.

One of my cats had the problem of throwing up. He still does sometimes, but not as much. When we took him to vet they were talking exploratory surgery. I asked if it could be the food he was eating. We changed his diet and he doesn't throw up near as much as he did.

My cat stays indoors because it's alot safer for him. He used to be an outdoor cat at one point in his life so he's always trying to get out. Frequently, he gets the door open and sits on the porch or goes out to eat some grass. I always get him back though. He probably feels like he;s in a whitecollar prison. lol

All of my three cats, Mimi, Waffles and Columbus, are indoor cats. I feel safer knowing that they are safe and well cared for, and wouldn't have it any other way. I tried to train a fourth cat, actually a stray I named Maxie, to be an indoor cat. He was with me for about a week until he ran away this morning and still hasn't returned.

My cat is an indoor cat. But she still likes to go outside every now and then, but only with me or the kids. She hates to be outside by herself, shes quit contented to sit on the sill and look outside. But hey my cookie is a diva.
