How do you pick your favorite chocolate from a box of assorted chocolates?

If life gives you a box of chocolates... how do you know which chocolates to eat first?
When presented with an assorted box of chocolates from Sees, etc. without the list of contents, how do you know what the chocolates contain?
Some people cut them in half... others dig into the chocolates with their fingernails ... others just take their chances and grab randomly... and still others believe they can tell the difference between the various fillings by either knowing the shapes of the offerings or knowing how to read the tops of the chocolates...
How do you choose the chocolates out of a box of assorted chocolates?
And which chocolate would you put in your mouth first from a box of assorted chocolates?

Dark Chocolate... Yum!
Too bad I have not been around you,,, I would have eaten all of those dark chocolate caramels leaving you only the creams...

My favorite box of chocolates is Rhebs - they're a local place, they make their own and at Valentines Day you are waiting in line for HOURS to get INTO the shop (the line is usually down the block). When I get a box from there, it's usually all creams, a few nougat, and it's assorted milk and dark chocolates. So I just dig in!
If I get chcoclates that are store-bought, I usually start with the round ones because they're more likely to be the creams. I only bit half of them at a time though, in case it's coconut, then I spit it out.

oohhh hahaha i never thought of that. but since i love caramel, i choose the one that contains caramel. i sort of know the shape (because i think there is an international standard for the shape that a filling goes with) and so i immediately get the caramel filled one.
then after that, i would just eat the rest of the box off. lol

I never heard of an international standard... I grab the dark chocolate caramels often too... Good choice. May you have many a good day with chocolates or without them... May you have enjoyment in your life.

I don't really choose what to eat first... I just dug it until I eat all... I love to eat 'em... hehehehe....

If life gives me a box of chocolates, I would be intensely happy until it runs out.^_^ I love chocolates so Im not a picky eater when it comes to choosing. I guess we can never really know whats inside each of them until we take a bite. In usual situations I would probabaly pick the ones closeset to me but when Im feeling a little playful, Ill choose a pattern then go form there, like Ill eat the ones with some sort of stripes first then Ill go for the darker ones. Or maybe Ill pick the ones with the most 'frivolous' designs firsts then go for the classic ones. Im not sure, I guess it all depends on my mood. Good thing that chocolates only give people the good mood right?^_^

I too am a fan of chocolates... but am a bit more picky than you are... I like your flexibilty and playfulness.
