Grease and Flour or Grease and Sugar?????????

Ok bakers out there! I received a new "preview" magazine the other day in the mail. It is called "Cuisine at home". They indicate I am part of a marketing test and I was chosen from a select group of cooking enthusiasts to receive it! OK, I was happy, I love cooking shows, magazines, books, you name it. In one area it has tips and techniques from readers (if a preview and new how many readers are there already? Well, that is another question and I don't care right now) Anyway, the tip was instead of greasing and flouring the pan, grease and sugar! What a brilliant idea! I made a pound cake to go with our strawberries last night and tried this tip. I just ate a piece of the cake all by itself and it was so good! No flour film on the baked cake and just a slightly sweet coating on the bottom and sides! OMG! Why haven't I tried this before? Has anyone else heard of this?

I have not heard that tip before. It sounds like it would be a good idea though. I will have to try that next time I bake a cake. Thanks for the idea.

Hi. JanisRemaxRealtor. I have never tried this before, but thanks to you, I will be trying it. I have never baked a cake from scratch before, but this is an excellent tip to try. I am glad that your cake came out well.
