Did you see this in a Sci-Fi flick! Do not believe that...
But yes, we are heading towards doom due to problems like Global Warming and Ozone Layer Depletion from our atmosphere. These should be really taken care of or we all will end without enjoying much of our life! :-|

yes it is true, it will happen....
but the question is.... who's comes first:
the Meteor and comet collide to earth?
or
the sun's nuclear energy will fade or depleted?
i guess, another 3 millions of years to wait.... but, it's true, it will happen later.
but i will live in this world (earth) for about more than 80years old only.... i don't care about that disaster....

Regarding your statement that the earth will be destroyed, yes it will be destroyed by fire. But there are no certain years nor dates that the event will happen. That is prophesied in the book of Revelation in our Bible. Nobody knows exactly the end of this present world may be. And if there are people who predict an exact date, believe them not for it will not be true.
The best thing we could do is being prepared for any happenings. If this world will be destroyed, are you ready to meet thy Creator?

true, probably true..... but not now, maybe for the next 3 million years, more or less.....
no traces of any oncoming asteroids, comets, NEO(near earth object), etc.....
as long as no proven evidence, then there is no need to worry.....
it is like sailing your vessel (not under command), your bow of your vessel cannot hit something as no obstacle in the surrounding areas, but after a month (more or less) your bow might hit the shore....
