hi, just dropping by for a comment...
Maybe all of us know already what meant by Global warming. Global warming is one of the phenomenon in which there is an excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In this situation the heat that is coming from our planet is being trapped by the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, this may result to the increase in temperature. When there is too much heat, this will lead us to drought in some areas of the planet. In order to prevent this phenomenon, one solution is to "plant more trees"... We need also to participate in some movement of our government agencies to fight this problem. Its up to the people to save our planet. It is in their hands to "save our dying planet".
Thanks... have a nice day!

You are correct, the planet will not die. It will stay in space for billions of years as a lonely rock.
However, do note that the ones who will die are people. People are dying because of environment degradation. Flashfloods, mudslides, landslides, drought, La Nina, El Nino, severe weather conditions, all these have been aggravated by environment degradation and destruction.
It is true our planet will not die, but the people who inhabit it will.

Our planet has been here for 40 billion years and has survived countless collisions by asteroids and comets. The Great Ice Age was caused by a huge asteroid colliding with the earth and that happened as late as a million years ago. Many Prehistoric Animals became extinct because of the sudden Climate change at this time. But the Earth didn't die. It kept spinning along on its merry way. The point I'm about to make is this- After 40 billion years and many natural disasters on the earth, do you really think that 100 hundred years of burning fossil is going to do irreparable damage to the earth? 100 years out of 40 billion is like a grain of sand lying on a sandy beach 100 miles long! Lets get real here, eh?

I appreciate your concern for the environment panther.
For my part, I joined a group that will start a tree planting project in the Philippines. The project is called UPV Centennial Forest. It will be located at the University of the Philippines campus in Iloilo Philippines. The tree planting site is 1 hectare but we plan to expand it by a hectare each year. We envision this project to blossom and the site to become a full blown Forest Park. Everyone can see the details of the project at http://centennialforest.wordpress.com
We are really hoping that this project would succeed so that we can help nature regain its old glory. Recently the Philippines has been hit by severe flashfloods that killed hundreds of people. I think it is a testament that we really should wake up and start protecting the environment. Tree planting could be our first step.
Cheers for Mother Earth.

When we say that our planet is dying then it is also tantamount as to saying that we as human beings are also facing extinction. Global warming is the sum of all the damages we as individual or as a group contributed to our planet. By this logic then the solution is for us to formulate, to save our planet and more importantly to save ourselves and our future generations. The movie The inconvenient truth showed the causes and effects of Global warming. I can share my opinion on how we can delay or even stop our own destruction. First. Information, no finger pointing just pure facts on what we are facing and how to deal with it. Second, every country or better every individual must accept the responsibility of saving our home planet. If it should be written in a contract globally so be it. We need global support. thirdly, we must accept this even the religious group. Population control, because with the advent of advance medical technology survival rate is lengthened and concomitantly we will contribute more pollution in our home world. The more people, the more consumption, lesser resources and evidently more pollution. Fourth, equal and efficient use of our resources specially the non-renewable ones.
These are the things that I came up with. I hope we as a race could address this situation for our own sakes.

that's correct and if we don't start acting now there will be another human extinction.

If everyone would just make small changes it would have a big impact. Think of all the people that pay for gas at the pump and get a receipt. How often do you think that receipt is just thrown away? Why not decline the receipt? If everyone stopped getting them, think of how much paper would be saved! Just one small is all everyone needs to take!
