Here is a picture of my Mom that my hubby found in a box of treasures that were hiding in a closet. Spring cleaning has brought out a lot of hidden treasures. I remember a lot of happy memories in that kitchen. Birthday parties, holiday meals, and gatherings around the table. As the saying goes, no matter where I serve my guests, they seem to like my kitchen best.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I am sure these are Great memories for you indeed. Somewhere I have a lot of old pictures, but since I have no where to really keep them right now, they are packed in a Box somewhere. And since we might be considering moving somewhere soon it will have to wait until we moved and got more organized before I would even think of looking for things like this.

Finding old photos can bring back all sorts of memories and I love the black and white ones that seem to have more character in them. And as usual your Mom is doing her chores which in those days were a great part of their lives and was accepted without whining.

My mom - This is my mom at around 18
I have some old photo's. I got some from my mother when she passed away. I got more last Christmas when my grandmother pulled out her box of photos and said take them. I got very few though. My aunts got most of them, promising to e-mail them to me when they got them scanned. So far I have heard nothing.

I would call them and remind them to send the promised photos your way. Sometimes it takes a little prodding to get what you want. Nice picture of your Mom.

Spring cleaning really does have some great rewards. Finding things like that that make us smile and reflect on happy times. It makes the work worthwhile. I am happy that you have found the things you love the most. It's time to put out all these happy memories and bask in the love that all mothers have gladly and happily shown us while we were growing up. Mom's do tend to spend a lot of time in the kitchen when you think about your younger years. To all moms out there in cyberspace I wish you a very happy (early) Mothers day today and every day.

Wow, she's a wonderful woman. Her picture shows how demure and elegant she could be even in the kitchen. I wanted to comment but a box appeared and said that "user must be friend to comment." We used to be friends, I don't know what happened. Anyway, I wish I also can keep a picture of my mom when she was younger.

there's nothing like a box of old pictures to bring back happymemories. I was diggingaround looking for something the other day and unearthed some pictures taken when I had been married maybe three or four years mymom and sis and my husband and the kids at christmas time. my hubby was wearing a giantic pair of sun glasses I had given him as a fun gift.my son who was about four was on his Christmas tricyle and my daughter who was three was sitting on a stuffedbear as big as she was.my first house, and my mom and sis were there. i found one of my little girl at age two with her chocolate birthday cake and chocolate frosting all over her face. she had the biggest grin. Happy Memories for a 81 year old me.
