what should a dad do now

ok when me and husband first got together he didnt do the family thing well. he worked all the time. he was never there for holidays , birthdays, school things , etc. dont get me wrong he loved us it was jsut work came first for many years. then i guess the kids were about 7 and 9 years old it changed. he stopped working so much to the point to where he stopped all together and started home schooling them. his whole life changed. he made the kids everything to him. he started trying to do holidays with us etc. growing up he didnt have that. his dad just didnt spend time with him. his parents were together but his dad just didnt do family things. this was totally new for him. i was so happy. the kids loved it too. well now my 13 year old of course is a teen and a pain in the butt. she cares more about playing with her friends then hanging out with dad. but if there is no one else as far as friends go she wants to hang out with dad. well he feels really hurt.he feels like he is just last resort when there is nothing better to do. when she gets mad she tells him he is boring, and etc and that hurts him. i mean he does all kinds of things with them. fishing, rock band, games, trampoline, swimming , everything. i jsut dont know how to help him. he feels so sad. he said he wishes now hat he would of just stayed the way he was then it wouldnt hurt so bad. the kids are verything to him. they ar his bestfriends besides me. i work and he stays home with them. he feels so alone when they ignore him and act like he doesnt matter when there friends come over. this just startd happening when she turned 13. i just dont know what to do for him
