i know that it may sound crazy, but before my daughter was born, my husband and i bought a ton of clothes that were really big. most people when they buy gifts for a new baby, will purchase newborn and 0-3 month sizes. but you will never know how big your baby will be, or how long this stuff will last. make sure to have spit-up rags and bibs.
i ended up with tons of washcloths and two towels- the hooded towels are the best! i love the huggies line of bathing products. my baby has really sensitive skin, and the johnson's products really dried her skin out. you will only need a large package of newborn diapers, so stock up on larger sizes, especially when they are on sale.

i hope this helps!

Congratulations mommy to be!
Cloth diapers! Even if you plan to use disposables, these cloths come in handy for burp rag, wiping things down, you name it. I also had the sleeping sacks for all of mine. They're like pajamas but with no legs, just a big pouch and a zipper. These are great, all of my babies fell right off to sleep when I put them on them. You'll want a bumber to put around the baby's head in the car seat too. A rolled up recieving blanket works ok, but most bumbers have velcro on the bottom to secure them in place so you don't have to keep re-adjusting it. I like the little mirrors you can put in the back window, so you can see your baby's face from the rear view mirror.
blessings!

the crib, my baby loved the boppy bouncy seat that you can get at target. I would get a jumperoo which she loves but you dont have to have that until 4-6 months. The dresser. The baby tub. plenty of onsies, you can never have too many of those. Also what to expect the first year comes in handy. These are some of my favorite things. besides the essential of lotions and creams etc
Congrats momma!

Congratulations.
Lets see --- what do you buy. Buy the whole store- babies 'r us (if you have one near you).
I remember when I was pregnant I was in that store once a week.
Stock up on diapers you will need tons of it.
Stock up on pesonal hygiene items for your self too. After nine months without the monthly visitor (if you know what I mean) you forget about purchasin those items again.
Stock up on batteries -for your camera. You will want to take pictures of every moment and more.
Buy a diary- big enough to store lots of information.
Start writing at the first sign of any things.
Such as when the child is born, how many inches, weight etc. Then to create a album, next to your writing, put the picture next to it. it is fun when you go back and look at the picture 2 years later.
Also the diary/ album will help you down the line when you need to check back on his/her development progress.
Sorry, I don't want to scare you but just want to give you some insight to prepare for it.
But the album can always serve as your memory book with beautiful pictures and more.
