With the housing market in a pinch and with the clowns we have going for office it is my opinion that we americans be prepared in all ways of our food storage. Prices will be going up that is a fcat. The cause is not the fact of corn being converted for alternative fuel, it is because of the fuel we have and we need at this time.. I was told that G. Bush has finicial interest in the oil business and he is looking forward leaving office and his mess behind. The news will put the people in a panic as it does very well. Let's face it, you should already be prepared regardless of others mishaps. It is vital to Americans that we start focusing on not the money savings alone but a 6 month supply of food storage as well. It is good to have in that emergancy moment you might be unemployed, ill, or completely broke. Costs are getting higher and I really do not believe it is going to get better anytime soon. Church pantries are decreasing and charities are limited to helping the ones in need.. By creating a food storage, you will spend less in the markets when you need the money somewhere else.Start with sugar, rice, flour, oats, wheat, dried beans, and bottled water. This is a start.I think our Government wants us Americans to be dependant upon them?

yes, it is a good thing to prepare early than never. you should not only prepare for something that you need like food etc. but you should also save money for things that you would buy in the event of crisis. oil is going higher wether we like it or not because we, americans, have become dependent on it since it started fueling the american economy. we should try to look for other alternatives to solve our problem with oil. we should voice out our voices to the law makers to pass laws to make it easier for companies involved in alternative energy to develop new technologies to solve our problem.

I totally agree that being prepared finicially is just as important.. I think people have taken this for granted as it is easy to have things in life. Having the education for the people would be the key to success. Then most americans wouldnt be so dependant on the governemt on rainy days and more self sufficiant. The average person views self sufficiant as turning 18 and getting a job, paying bills.. living paycheck to paycheck. Self sufficiant in my eyes is preparing to manage, take care of, and provide for all possible cases that can arise. It should be a law and classes should be mandatory in schools to educate our kids. I survived Katrina, Rita with out asking for help from my lousy government under the circumstances. That should have been the eye opener but only to a few, most have forgotten. Prepare to be prepared is how we should look at things like this.
