You must be careful when downloading things on limewire. After every download run your anti-virus then enjoy your product ;)

owning a mac viruses are a much smaller problem here as they are practically inexistent. There are also smart ways to get products off internet, first of all using a good browser is a must. I personally recommend mozilla firefox as it is much more secure and faster than internet explorer. Secondly downloading programs are the most dangerous, to download these (or full music albums or movies) I recommend using torrents (they can be opened in limewire). Torrents work the same as songs on p2p networks but they are safer as the people using them are a smaller community that know what they are doing on the computer (for the most part) and people upload bigger files traditionally. If you do not want to download limewire or any program like that there are many ways to obtain music off internet. Thanks to youtube you can listen to any song you want, and thanks to sites like vixi.net you can download only the music you hear during that song. Well the "moral" of my post is to download in a smart manner and a good virus protector is still, always essential.

yes, i agree with you a hundred percent on this here. i've used limewire for a long time, and so does my friend, and we thought that they were a good company to use to get free songs. but, my friend kept on getting viruses on his computer, and he couldn't figure out where it was coming from. he finally did a full system restore on his computer, and than i told him i said, don't download limewire again. let's see what happens when you don't have it on your computer afterwards you get your system back in order. you know, and than, he said that he didn't get no more viruses since he didn't download limewire! so, they say that their music and stuff is virus safe. but it's still not wise to download. i don't download it no more after he told me this, and right after i told him not to download limewire to see if he catches any viruses from it. and since he's not downloaded limewire, he hasn't had one singal virus since.

you dont have to uninstall it just run your anti virus before and after you download anything off the net. i recommend getting both n-vidia (its something like that) and norton and run both. you couldnt possibly miss a virus with 2 different anti virus softwares

i'm always careful when i download things from limewire and any other p2p programs out there. i keep in my mind that nothing is for free in this world so there are people out there that are making malicious code to steal your personal information to get themselves reach by using it for themselves or just by selling it to someone else. when you decide to keep using these p2p programs for a long time you should consider backing up your system to protect you from system crashes.

Well then maybe thats why Im having problems with my computer. It likes to shut down on me for no reason. I have been having problems with it for a month or so now. I am going to do a system restore but I have to download all my pics to a CD first. I would hate to loose them. I have over 3500 stored on my computer. Im going to do that then restore the computer with the disk and I wont download limewire and see what happens. Thanks for the info!! ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper

I think videos and audio files from Limewire. Only the computer applications and sometimes the documents contain viruses and should really be scanned.

Yes, I know that too and thank you for the information. As for me, I always scan the songs or file that I downloaded or will be downloading before opening it because it might be a virus... who knows... better to be safe than sorry! Cheers!
