Since my childhood I was fascinated by Anne Frank, Florence Nightingale, Sister Nivedita...I was very much fascinated by the caregivers who worked selflessly during second world war and pre-independence era. When I grew up a little I wanted to be a doctor but soon realised I couldn't dare the sight of blood, I still cannot. May be my dream remained a dream and I didnot have the guts to pursue it. But I am happy still being able to be a part of hospital industry.
I am not a caregiver in the true sense of the term but do get to share my shoulder with them whenever required. That feels great!

I always wanted to become a Lawyer, when I was a child. That desire still remain, however I could not fulfil my dreams, due to one reason or another.
What was yours?

When i was in elementary, i found an encylopedia in my father's old books collection. That book was attracted to me so much. I fascinated about the solar system image in that book, and i wish i could do something like the person who did it before. I asked my father what kind of job that do researched those things in the world, and he said its scientist.
In my mind at that time, scientist looks like Einstein, wearing white coat, and walking around in the room with coloring solutions and even wearing magic gloves that protect them from those solution. Thats why i really excited to learn natural science subjects. My favorite subject is biochemistry, especially for amino acid and DNA. Now im taking my medical lab science program, and i wanna working as real scientist someday.

I used to want to be an airhostess (after a movie I saw).
Now I think it's funny because I don't have the height to be one!
But this dream of mine was when I was around 5-7 years old...so I wouldn't know what the pre-requisites of being an air hostess were.
My husband wanted to be a gold smith because he liked to blow into the fire! He thought that was the best thing in the world then!

It always makes us happy to think what all we wished and what we are now.I always thought that the movie projector operator is the luckiest man in the whole world to see the movies I fancied, free every day.I never knew as a child it is the most cruelest punishment to a person especially with the types of movies they are making nowadays.

You made me smile with your discussion. When I was young I dream of every thing that I could be. From a teacher, nurse, mother, cook, office worker. dentist, doctor, model and a princess. I enjoy playing different roles during the childhood days.
Of course in my script I am the main character... I filled it with so much fantasy.
Now, you have given me a chance to go back to those days... those days where I can go into my make believe world where I can be anything I want to be. But now, it seems that it is a different thing... for now, I know that is just a pure fantasy.
With every role that I played during those years... I think the only thing that came true was being a mother. I think that this is the most difficult but most enjoyable role that I play.
I think everyone of us experienced playing a role in a make believe world. Sometimes, we believe that we are a super heroes, or our favorite characters that we watch. I remember my cousin playing the role of a character in voltes V.
How can I forget the role that I play there, when i really do not enjoy the role that I play... Its just that I dot have any choice because majority of my cousins are boys.
Right now, I cant help but laugh and be sad at the same time. I can never tell exactly why... but to simplify it... it feels that I really missed the days with my cousins that I know I can never have again.
Thanks and happy posting.

my father used to be sailor, and i was really fascinated about that.but now,i don't.
i mean when you have enough money or have something, you also can travel around the world,no need to be a sailor or journalist or someone.

I wanted to be a vet so badly. I was a huge animals lover. I still like animals but, the feeling has definitely calmed down. I am more interested in the Arts and being creative and such.

Most of the professions I have considered have been realistic, for the most part. Psychologist, secretary, detective, dancer, gymnast. Although I believe at one point in my life I wanted to be a princess. But of course, what little girl hasn't wanted to be a princess at one time or another, lol.

I wanted to be a paleontologist when I grew up. For those of you who don't know, a paleontologist is someone who excavates or digs up fossils and other things. I was extremely fascinated with dinosaurs as a child, even though I was a girl. I studied a lot about dinosaurs, doing fossil digs, and preserving dinosaur bones. I still wouldn't mind being a paleontologist, but I think the thing that turns me off about it is the long years of schooling, the traveling to remote places, and the time spent outdoors.

When I was young, I always imagine myself to be a doctor. I'll imagine myself working for the A&E department, busily running about and trying to save lives. I always that would be cool. As I grew older, I lost interests in science (mainly because I am scared of dissections). My dissection lessons in school are so scary..

When I was little I loved animals, I wanted to be a farmer until I found out a lot of farmers kill animals lol, then I wanted to be a vet, then a beautician, secretary, lawyer, dancer (when I was like 5), then a teacher, which isn't so funny now it's something I have thought about since I've been older.

I always wanted to be a teacher. This profession really fascinated me. I would dress like a teacher. Carry notebooks, eraser, and chalk. I would wear my mother's shoulder bag. And wear two inch shoes. Looking back that made me smile. I could never be a teacher. It's like continue studying and learning your whole life time.
