Big Brother & Microsoft???

I saw on the news this morning that there are Groups trying to protect our online privacy from companies like Microsoft a.k.a Hotmail monitors your every move online. These Groups are trying to get these big companies to give US the choice to be monitored or not. What does everyone think about this? Should we get involved??
