I was on my way home from a double header of bingo. It was almost 2 am. Walking down the middle of a fairly busy four lane road was 3 drunk girls with a shopping cart. One girl appeared to be passed out in the shopping cart and the other two were hollering and waving their arms at everyone who passed. Several cars had to swever to miss them. I pulled over and called the police to have them come deal with the situation. Last thing I wanted was to read about three dead teenagers in the paper the next morning. They where out of sight by the time I got off the phone but the police where sending a car out immediately. I hope the girls got caught and ticketed for underage drinking and learn a lesson. They are very lucky they didn't get hit by a car.

I would have done the same thing. You were right to turn them in. They need to be shown what could've happened to them. I know that some towns and cities will actually take underage drinkers to morgues and show them first hand what drinking and acting irresponsible can do. Hopefully their parents will take control and get their kids some help.

I think you acted very responsibly by reporting them to the police. It was not just the three girls who were at risk, one or more cars could have crashed when swerving to avoid them and all the people in the cars could have been injured or killed. At the very least, police involvement may stop them doing anything so dangerous in future.

well these things happen when we allow kids to be drunk with friends. hehe its dangerous for these kids anything can happen to be since they are drunk and are teenage girls. it is a dangerous world out there...
im glad you did call the police to help them out and give them a lesson too. their parents should be taught too.. i mean it is still their responsibility
