It seems that in the world of tv today that reality shows are everywhere and covering every thing you can think of from losing weight to eating disgusting items. I myself seldom watch a reality show, I just dont really care for them. Thats not to say that I havent ever watched one, its just not a regular thing for me. I know thats not the case with most others or they wouldnt be so popular as they seem to be. So, do you like them, or do you hate them, and if you do like them, which ones do you like?

For me "reality shows" is far too big a label. A reality show can be a talent show, a documentary, a dating show, a show were people are put in a bad or confronting situation, a panel show and so on. I can't say that I do or don't like them - it is so dependent on the individual show. I've felt everything from disgusted to enthralled. I do feel that it's a shame that they are replacing quality drama and comedy productions, but they are cheaper to make, and despite how the opinions in this discussion might look, they are still very popular.

Oh, I know that they are very popular, if they werent they would not have the strength and rating that they do. I think that one reason they are so popular is that there is one for everyone pretty much because of the diversity. I do occasionally watch one, but there arent any of them that I actually follow week to week.

I have to admit I'm a fan of Australian idol. I watched one season of Big Brother, but I won't bother again. I actually have problems fitting into conversations because I've never seen the Biggest Loser. To be honest, I think it is the same fascination that makes people slow down to look at an accident. It seems that it is human nature to be relieved that some people have worse problems than our own!

I am not a big fan of reality shows, Jer31558. I have seen a lot of reports that they aren't that "real" anyway, and that most are scripted. I do like American Idol, but I am not sure if that is a reality show or not. I don't really get into shows like "Survivor".

I am a big fan of reality tv shows. I watch Big Brother, America's Next Top Model, Ambush Makeover, Girls Next Door, Fear Factor and the list goes on. What I do not liek about reality tv shows is that they are selecting the things that they want to air. They are eliminating some important clips. They are motivated by profit. By selecting only what they want to air, the characters in the reality tv show are portrayed differently if you know what I mean. We do not get to know them that much or witness everything that they do because of eliminating some clips that might be of interest to us.

Reality shows are all over the place. In our country alone, it is always a hit to viewers and fans. I prefer to watch Big Brother editions, Survivor, Dream Academy, etc. I get thrilled and excited with the contestants. It's presenting the real deal somehow.

I cant stand reality shows!! I think they are stupid and I cant bare to watch to them! I also think that most or all of them are staged and therefore are not reality!

I like some reality tv, and despise the rest of it. I like some vh1 and tlc reality shows, like rock of love and I love new york because they're funny. But I do think the mahority of Reality shows are utterly trashy.

My 13 year old son likes to watch that show called man vs wild. I have watched that some with him, but to me that is not like the run of the mill reality show. I have even heard that it is rigged as well, but they still tell some interesting things that could save your life in certain situations.

i think today theyre really over crowding the market with these shows like really the Real World was probaly like the only original one that started it .however not alot of people watched ..but i think it was Survior that i barely watched that started this must have a reality TV show for every channel like its plain rediculous these days ..ughh like in hollywood i guess their motives are why even hire writers when they can make crummy shows like Keeping up With the Cardians or one of those Love shows

Though I am not a fan of reality TVs, I do not hate them. I just do not have time to watch them regularly.

yes i do watch reality shows. i love a number of shows liek survivor, amazing race, and miami ink. however, there are those that i just flat-out hate. i think though that most reality shows are over-rated. i mean who'll be interested in knowing who's going to throw a better sweet sixteen party? plus, i don't like those celebrity reality shows like the osbournes. i don't think these shows have enough "reality" in them.
