Earthquakes in midwest US and northern Nevada

United States

Two areas of the United States which normally don't experience earthquakes got hit this week - one in the midwest close to Chicago, and a series of quakes in Northern Nevada. The quakes aren't large by California standards, but still would be significant strength and newsworthy even it they had hit California. I know the largest quake in U.S. hostory took place in Missouri in the early 1800's and Montana had a huge one about twenty years ago, but I just it was kind of odd that these two parts of the country would experience a moderate sized quake in the same week.
