How do you call your cat in the house?

My kitty sneaks out and will not come back for hours, so I will get a can of cat food and go out side sit on the walkway and open the can and when she hears the can open she comes running, and I grab her sneaky butt and put her in the house and then I give her the can food. They my male and female cats he dried food but as a reward I give them the can food which they love at least 3 or 4 times a week. I don't like them outside when I go to work because I worry about them, I let the male go in and out all the time, but my female runs and don't come back for hours, so I don't let her go that much, plus she is not fixed yet she is 10 months old and my male Tabby Morris is 3 years old and looks just like Morris the cat on the cat food bag.

Boy dose she have you trained.
I'm just kidding I have worked with animals for the last 8 years, so I know what you are talking about I've been there.
She needs to be spayed right away or you will have more soon ( within 64 days ) anyway I dont know if you have a tape recorder but if you do make a tape of the sound of the can being opened the next time you open one for them and then when she goes out and you go out to get her play the tape and see if that works.

I am lucky to not have to call my cat back into the house because she is strictly an indoor cat. She isn't allowed out.

Thats good for your family, but I would feel bad to deny my cats the outdoors, its natural. The Vet said they would get fat indoors and not get alot of excercise.

My cat is wonderfully called "Musong" by my kids. The good thing about this cat is that he catches mice in the house so I don't have problems dealing with mouse. He has a girlfriend from the neighbor so when he's not around, I know he went over to the neighborhood. He comes home and stays home most of the time.

There used to be two females that would hang around here in the evening to be with Morris I wonder if he got tirred of them because I don't see them any more or maybe they found out that he was playing them so they both left. lol

Yes that's is how my Morris is, he is happy when I call him. Kitty is more difficult, sometimes she is so loving and other time she wants to be left alone. Just like me . lol

I have a female cat that likes to be gone for hours. She doesn't come to her name or a can of cat food or even a can of tuna. She hates tuna by the way! She loves Kitty Milk. So we call out "milk, milk, milk". One night she didn't come home so my husband and I were out at 10pm walking up and down our street calling "milk, milk, milk". I bet our neighbors think we are crazy but it works!

How do I call my cat??? Hah! My cat sees himself as King and I am his Slave. He ignores me when I call and will come ONLY if he feels like it! Previously I used to rattle his food dish and he'd come running, but after a few times he saw through the trick and so that method doesn't work anymore. I know he knows his name and hears me, because when he's sleeping and I see him and call him, his tail would twitch and that's it!

Really.
Hope we don't have that problem with our cat's.
I have seen my cat get a hold of the dog food though. I wonder how bad it would be and what the difference is that they need differently. huh.

well they say that dog food, when fed to cats on a long term basis, will cause them to go blind, ive read that in a newspaper and on yahoo answers, so in my case i only feed him 2-3 pieces a day just to lure him to come to me, so i think its not gonna be harmful to him.. i had a question before regarding harmful cat food that got deleted when yahoo deleted my account due to violation of their guidelines, the responses regarding how whiskas was made and the reasons why it is harmful are very informative, how i wish i could send you the link. but that post is gone now. but you can always search the net for more info regarding that. they said that whiskas (the one that i fed my cat, the dry one) and friskies are harmful to cats due to its ingredients. what brand of cat food do you feed your cat? the one that they said was safe to feed cats is purina, they said other brands but i forgot the other ones coz purina seems to be the popular choice. last december 2006, my kitty had trouble peeing and we bought him to the vet,the vet told me that ever since he started to practice his craft, his colleagues wonder why cats get urinary blockage, when its not even caused by genes so they assumed that maybe coz of the food they eat. i told him that his guess was correct coz i searched the net about it. (coz he doesnt go online coz it strains his eyes) he told me to just feed my cats the usual "table food", you know, rice, fish, meat. chicken skin, actually any viand, i even feed him vegetables! come to think of it, ive had cats since i was 8 yrs. old and we all fed them table food, and those cats NEVER had urinary problems, with the exception of the one that was fed with cat food!

When my Shady was an outside cat and when I had other outside cats, all I had to do was call their names and some high-pitched "here, kitty kitty kitty" and they'd come running. Shady's 22 now and she's no longer allowed to go out, although I have put her outside as a treat once in a while. She plays 'hard to get', so I can't do it much. I don't want anything happening to her.

usually my cat comes home on her own, atleast during our food time she will be definitely back to home. She loves to have her food along with us. When she is at home most of the time she will be sleeping.

Yes mine to when they are at home they sleep. Cats are smart they get into a routine. Its just my female I am just barely letting her out and I try to be out there with her when she explore's. Lately she seems to want to go off on her on. and I will trick her with the can food to come back in. I need to take her and get her fixed so she can't have kittens. I am just so tirred after I work. :(

I like that. My Morris will come to the door easily but, Kitty is more like 'I'll come in when I get good and ready'. lol So I have to trick her most times.

Ooooh! How sneaky you are! lol (But I've found with cats, the sneakier the better.) When I had cats that were allowed to go out, I used a couple different techniques. I'd start by sticking my head out the front door and calling their names. And believe it or not, sometimes that would actually work. That is of course, unless they were having a 'selective hearing' moment. If their names didn't work, I'd do the old baby talk voice and call kitty-kitty. If neither of those proved successful I'd resort to shaking the cat food bag to let them know it was time to come in from playing.
Thankfully, the cats learned pretty early on that it wasn't fun to stay locked outside all night and they'd much rather be let in so they could sleep in the enclosed porch. And who says you can't train a cat? lol

All I have to do is shake a bag of Whiskers Licken's and they come running. They love them. Any kind of treats like that in a foil bag. They will always come running.

Thats right.
I think cat's are loving when they feel the love from us.
