I'm talking about sites like blogsoldiers etc which are traffic exchange sites only for blogs. Do they improve the quality and quantity of visitors to your blogs? Do any of you use them and what is your feedback?

Forget about the trafic exchange, it would not bring you quality traffic. I suggest go for SEO for quality traffic, not the traffic exchange

In some way blog traffic exchange programs like Entrecard and Spottt can help you improve visitor stats yet still updating your blog content is still the key.

I don't think so...many people in the internet community do not know what exactly is traffic exchanges. Therefore no matter how much you are trying to tell them about it if they don't have the interest to try they will go away. So there is no point blogging about something that is redundant to people's interest and furthermore traffic exchange not as useful as other ways to find attract free traffic.

The search engine is the best place go find out what are the best keywords that people are searching for example celebrity, games, britney spears, lindsay lohan. And make a story around that topic you will surely get plenty of traffic someday.

I recently had some experience with one of the blog traffic exchange networks and I must say that they made me mad . Because of the reason that the visitors you get are just like you who have registered with them to get visitors for their blogs . These are not targeted visitors . I do not like the way traffic exchange work . Instead you can try some of the following stuff to get some extra traffic : - Do link exchanges with other relevant blogs - Do banner exchange ( 125x25 or 468x60 ) - Join blogging communities like mybloglog / myblogcatalog ( Blogging communities seem to send more traffic to new blogs so you must take full advantage of those services ) Regards Kashif http://onlineearningguide.blogspot.com

All that you have said makes sense. Do banner exchanges really work though?

Banners seem to draw more attention than a link in blogroll . Also the banner needs to be attractive and eye catching . The placement of banner also plays a vital role . There are various factors you better look into before your make a decision which method you want to adopt . Links exchanges are fine as far as back links are concerned but for traffic I suggest you exchange banners with your fellow bloggers Blogging communities are the ones that can give a traffic boost to your new blog as long as you respect other bloggers and do not try to spam the community .
