I recently left a job I hated and am currently unemployed (hey! how else would I have time to do this!!!) Most of my friends think I am mad but what do you think? There may be light at the end of the tunnel as my partner has an interview abroad - if I was still in my job I wouldnt' consider going - now I am. Fate?

As long as you can survive financially without this job than no harm in leaving that job. I to have left a few jobs that I hated knowing that my boyfriend (now my husband) could take care of me until I got another job. It annoys me when people leave a job because they hate but they can't take care of themselves until they get another job. In this case you should look for another job while still doing the one you hate so you can pay bills.
As far as your case goes sounds like it might have been fate. Don't want to get ahead of things here but have fun abroad if you end up going!

Don't worry! I have just submitted my third resignation letter. This coming may I would be out of job again.
You are not alone.
When I resigned at my first job, I found a a job five months after. When I resigned from second job, I found a job two weeks after. This time around, I will keep the faith alive.
It's good that you quit. If you don't like what you doing, and if you forced yourself, it will drain you more.

I have also left a job that I hated, and although everyone thought I was crazy at the time, I had no regrets. Well, the only regret at the time was that I should have quit sooner. Look forward to your future.
