I've been to Bali before, and for the whole week vacation, guess how much did I spent for a bungalow next to the beach with it's own private pool, a 3 days tour, 4 sessions of unlimited deep sea diving, and of coz 3 times a day full buffet meals? A round figure USD 700!!! Seriously. Doesn't include flight tickets thought. I'm planning to go for another island vacation. Would love to have some info to where should I go and budget up would most probably USD 1G. (Not including the flight tickets.)

I really love to visit tropical islands especially. I love white sandy beaches, gently waving palm trees and a coral reef to snorkel around. I need to have adventure more than relaxation and love to climb hills, see native wildlife and meet the local people. The cheapest island that I have stayed on was a tiny one in Samoa. I had a mattress in a traditional thatched roof building and was open to the elements because I didn't put the shutters down. I liked hearing the waves splash against the shore and feeling the soft ocean breeze. I did lots of snorkeling and an exciting walk over the hilly top of the island past many trees and down the other side onto a narrow sandy beach. If the it was high tide this beach would be hidden from view and then I had to paddle round back to where I was staying. Three meals a day were included. The most expensive part of a trip there would probably the flight. I got a cheap flight to Cancun in Mexico and bused it down to Belize where I took a boat trip to Caye Caulker. I loved the snorkeling trips an the boat ride out to see the manatees. I hope that you will find your ideal island vacation.

It is called Namua Island and it is Samoa in the South Pacific Ocean. Air New Zealand fly there from Los Angeles in the USA or Auckland in New Zealand. Accommodation is a traditional and the three meals a day are good.

Excellent! I'm in Malaysia now. So going to N.Zealand wont be a prob for me, it's only 5-6hr flight to Perth or Gold Coast, then another 1-2hrs flight to Auckland. Gee maximax8.. thanks! any other places?

You know what, I'm actually really excited on going to this place you talk about. Where is it? The island tropical life, always wanted to do a back packing trip to and island and get myself stranded and I have to work at one of the chalet to get money to buy my own ticket back to the mainland. Would be an experience!

i think $700 is too high hehe. :) of course i have not been to bali but i have been to boracay, another wonderful island vacation place - mostly visited by filipino tourists and foreigners too. my friends stayed for 3 nights and we have gone to boating, unlimited food and i have even bought several stuffs for my friends too but i only spent about $240 max... including fare going to the place (roundtrip). Manila to boracay.
