If I were the girl, I would definitely tell the guy that she can only offer him her friendship. If he continues to persist, I'd tell him that the situation is starting to make me feel uncomfortable and I would have to end the friendship. And then I'd change numbers. :P

it is very easy to say things through text and even through a phone conversation. I happened to eavesdrop on a conversation between a guy on a bus station and someone who I presume to be a girl. The guy didn't mind talking aloud and I could hear him saying to the girl on the other end that he had to hang up because his aunt was disembarking from the bus. And that was that until I saw the guy again with his arms around a girl who looked obviously like his girlfriend. And this guy was not even good-looking.
