When I logged in to myLot an hour ago I was really surprised to see that I had 'earned' $0.53. I was expecting more like maybe $0.20 and I would even expect a $0.02 because I was able to squeeze in just one post this morning and my next log in was after the update. I wasnt able to log in last night because my computer was beeping nonstop, it was 12.30AM, and the whole neighborhood was asleep, so I had to stop and turn off the computer. I didnt have any chance today because I had to finalize my term paper and saw only a small window to get in even just one post.
So thats why I was surprised to find an earning of $0.53. I checked my activity sortie and the last entry there was a discussion I had responded to one day ago. I also have emails that people have commented on some of the responses I made before.
This got me thinking, if the earnings update really do have a 'cut-off' period, could it be the last entry in the activity page? Im not sure yet so I guess Ill have to wait tomorrow and see if my earnings are just $0.02 or something like that. If it does not reflect like this then maybe, its not the number of responses in a day that counts more to your earnings but maybe its the number of comments that other users have made on your responses that brings more dough. It is known that the respones made should have quality and must bring others to give a response and thus making it a discussion. People have been stressing that posts should have quality but maybe the part about having other people to comment back has far more greater in value.
Maybe...just maybe...what do you guys think?

I have noticed one thing in mylot. The update after 24 hours does not include all the previous day earning. It includes the earning for posts before 24 hours starting 48 hours before update. That means the post should have completed 24 hours to get earning

Oh!ok.. I think I get the first part and I thought of that too. You mean that the update includes only the posts you made the day before yesterday(48 hours), right? Anyways, thanks a lot for the response. You gave me another possibility. Its just so strange to not know how much you really make in a day here in myLot.

It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised by the day's earnings isn't it! I can never guess accurately what mine will be. I do know there is a cut off point before earnings are calculated but I don't know when it is. I have not thought to look at the activity sortie, but I have seen messages there for the highest rated discussion of the day so it could be when that is posted, or it could be when the myLot digest is sent out.
I don't think it matters because over the days all our earnings are added and then they are sometimes adjusted. You may see them go up and down at the end of the month when calculations and adjusments take place.
I do think you could be right about discussions with more comments having greater value. I think it is the more interactive discussions which pay more.
I hope you will have a nice surprise again tomorrow when our earnings are updated!

Well! I havent thought about the myLot Digest! It really could be a possibility since that is when the top discussions for the day are listed and shown so maybe it goes along with the earnings. I have read from other people that the days do add up and that they adjust it according to all of the earnings when they request payout. I guess there isnt really an accurate 24-hour 'earning'. I jsut thought it would be nice to track my progress you know? But I definitely am not complaining! It really is nice to have a pleasant surprise from anything and anyone. Thanks a lot for the response! You have enlightened me in a way and more!

Hey, this is the update about the recent earnigns update. It only showed $0.14. I know that I was not as active as I usually was but 9 posts(my number of posts today) surely trumps 1 post right? So I guess the earnings update really reflects your earnings the day before and when you request payout or maybe the end of the month, I guess thats the only time that they add all of the earnings accurately..
