One of the things I really like about JK's writing is the way she introduces things earlier in the series that, although seeminly important or unimportant to that part of the story, became important to the ending. Like the invisibility cloak introduced in book 1 became one of the deathly hallows in book 7. Also, Dobby introduced in book 2 became key to getting Harry and friends out potential death trap in book 7. Can you think of others?

I will try. When Voldemort try to kill Harry when he is a baby,in the 7 book it made Harry become one horcrux too. Now I can't remember any more.

Ah yes, the biggest one of all. Harry is a horcrux. Didn't really see that one comin' until the seventh book but it made sense. Kind of creepy thinking of having a piece of Voldemort's soul inside you all those years - ugh!

I try. Its too long after I read Harry Potter books except for the Deathly Hallows. I had to said Professor Snape. One of the antagonist charcaters in this books, had a major key in the end of book 7 and make one of the most suprising reveal that he is [SPOILER] one of the good guy.

Yeah, I think you hit the big one. Although his relationship with Lily, which turned out to be the key to his character and place in the story, wasn't revealed until DH. Also, he didn't play as big a role in actually bringing down Big V the way I thought he would. He kind of protected Harry and Hogwarts, and misdirected Voldemort a couple times, but didn't really play a key in his demise. But he was definitely the big surprise.
