Oh noooooooo....This just isn't right. There has to be some landlord who will allow your son to keep his cats. Specially the older ones who have been with you guys all their life. Really wish I could help you, gabs. Breaks my heart that he has to give them up. Your family are in my prayers that either he can find a place that allows cats or find them new homes.

The Problem is that he hasn't got the time to find that Landlord as he needs to get out of there and so far he has turned down places that would not allow them but he can't anymore
It is awful here but in a sense I know why Landlords won't because there are so many People now that don't look after their Pets and let them ruin the Property
I was lucky here as it was no Pets but they let me bring Gissi as I said I can't move in then and they put it on 3 Months trial they love Gissi lol
And it states in my Contract one small Dog allowed
What they are worried about is if I take the Cats they could get run over as we live on the main road to the Village also I am moving to a different Area soon and it will be hard enough to find somewhere with Gissi as I need bottom floor Flat and a small Garden no way would I find anywhere with the Cats to
It breaks our Hearts and the Kids have already cried as they have had them there that long but we have no choice it is hurting me

Did he try doing a search online? Here in the US you can just type in apartments.com and do a search in a particular area including with pets.

I have a friend in Huddersfield, Gabs. She has animals... loves them, and might be able to provide a good home for at least one. I will try to get hold of her.
I hope you have luck getting good homes for them all, my friend. Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. xxx

It's always hard to find homes for older cats. My two older ones came from the Cats Protection when they were 10 and they were glad that I was willing to take them.

I hope I'm some help here..LOL even though I'm here in the US. I did a quick search for pet rescue places in England.....here's a link....they give a long list of pet rescuers and animal shelters, and one may be around your area
http://www.animalrescuers.co.uk/html/cats.html
Go through the list...there are links to the individual pet rescue places.....and if you do decide to take the cats to anyone of these places...it's best to actually go to them and see how they run there place
The 2nd chance place sounds good
http://www.geocities.com/cats_sanction_shelter/2ndchance.html
http://www.aristocat.org.uk/
Like I said,....go down the entire listing--hope this helps
Here's are some other links

Oh gabs that is awful, I am really sorry to hear this. I wish I could help I really do, but I am just not in a position to have pets at the minute. We lost our last cat a few weeks ago but I had been told by my doctor a few months before that I had to get rid of him because Jack has bronchial problems and he said the cat made him worse.
Of course I could not just get rid of a cat because of this but I always said that once he had gone I would leave off having anymore just in case. I will ask around the few people that I know though.

Yes gabs it made me mad too especially when he sat there and said I had to get rid of my cat as if he was nothing more than a stuffed teddy. I would not even get rid of a stuffed teddy if I was told too!!
But sadly the choice was taken away from me when our cat went missing. But also besides the fact of Jack, I just have little time to enjoy and look after them and so it is not fair on them. Do not worry about writing, it is not a problem at all, and I completely understand, I will be here for you whenever you are ready, Take care xx

Heck! I hope that you can find somewhere that will take them and find good homes for them and not put them down (a no kill shelter they call them in the USA.) But I'd take them if it came to the point where you had exhausted all other options other to have them put down yourself. Taking them would give me a lot of problems, but I'd sooner deal with that rather than see them put down. I'm in the Wigan area.

I wish I could help! If I lived any where near you I would! i do hope someone can take them. I just moved and am not suppose to have a cat. I am going to have to get rid of mine. He has been in several fights. I hate to but I must or risk getting evicted.

We had problems trying to find a landlord that would accept pets too and in the end we offered to pay an extra £250 on top of the usual deposit as well as sign a clause in the contract accepting any/all responsibilty of any damage whatsoever. Your son could try adding this when speaking to landlords. How soon before he needs to move?
I'm down in Surrey and although I know it's not ideal, I'll still put the word out for you.
Perhaps you could ask people if they could just foster his cats until he finds somewhere that will allow pets. Say that your son will provide food or pay expenses etc and then that way people may not feel that they are taking on a long term commitment that they hadn't planned for. Just an idea.
In the meantime, I know it's easy to say but try not to panic, and keep us in touch as to how things are going. Take care

Well I have a few Numbers to ring tomorrow and Hope I will find somewhere
Putting to sleep would be the very very last Option no way and I know my Son would rather sleep on the Street then let that happen and that is what worries me to if we do not find a home I know what he is like he is like his Mum lol

My suggestion is to put up flyers around your area, and post in local forums that you are giving away cats. If you can't currently find anyone, are there any friends or relatives that have a garage or a barn, or someplace they would allow you to temporarily house the cats? Any other local shelters or Vet's offices? Or maybe you could take them to a local shopping center or pet center, and set up camp outside with a sign that you are giving away cats to good homes

gee I am so sorry to hear that hon, it would break my heart and it always has when I have had to part with my pets. How long can you stall from the landlord. Here he would have to send a request to the rental board and that would give us an additonal 30 days after that to find a home. I certainly hope you find a suitable home for those poor animals.

oh my and the RSPCA won't take them. I am here in the states
but wish I could help. Do you have any friends with homes who might takeall or at least part of them? Would a veterinarian might possibly know who and where you could safely send your cats? are there any agencies that protect cats in your
neighborhood? I sure wish I could be of more help. hope you find some really good home for them. love and hugs.
