There comes a time in the life of a man when he gets a wandering eye. He has an affair or a mistress. For women, this is the most crucial time in their marriage when everything might change.
Most of us have been raised thinking/knowing that a man should only have one wife and when we discover that there is another, the whole world is turned upside down. It is a very difficult thing to accept that somebody else has taken your place when you've sworn to love each other "til death do us part".
For those who believe differently, those of a different faith or different culture, is it any easier to accept this? Maybe there is something to learn from them.

Unless it's some kind of marriage of convenience where you live separate lives, I can't imagine that it would be easy to accept this no matter what culture or religion you are from.
