i've joined the volleyball team of our office and today will be our first game against another department. yesterday was the opening ceremony and we also had a parade. all the teams paraded within the gym together with the respective muses. and then, the first game was yesterday too. our team against another department and we won! although i didn't think that the other department gave a good fight because they lack players. while our basketball team had a lot of players.
i'm getting nervous for today's game. it will be a mixed volleyball. each team is comprised of men and women. its been long since my last official game. that was a few years back when i was in college when i used to play softball! today will be an official game and i don't know if i'll do good. i just want to have fun playing sports again. i wish i'll be able to do my best today and contribute to the efforts of my team!
so when was the last time you played in an official game?

Wa.. Good for u, secret ^_^ Volleyball is a good and sexy sport.. LOL Hope that ur team will win again today and win all the way.. hehe
It's been a very long time since i last played in an official game, i think should be around 8 yrs or so.. hehe ^_^ It was also the time when i was in college, playing soccer with my self formed team against the opposition, it's a tornament organised by the college too.. But a pity, we lost to the stronger team, just after round 1.. LOL ^_^
How i missed the days and times of competitive official games.. hehe

hi kun! depressing but we lost. we had a lot of errors. we won the first set but we started committing errors on the second set. i was so nervous at the start. but i regained focus in the middle of the game. an audience who is a varsity volleyball player said there were a lot of call mistakes by the referee. but most of us were not knowledgeable about the technicality so we failed to notice it.
but it was so much fun to play. it could have been more fun though if we had won. but there would be next time. i hope we can win by then.
i used to play sports too during my college days. i had tried soccer by the way. i can't do it. its too tiring!

yeah, what matters is how we tried our best and how we enjoyed the game. but i think most of my teammates are really hung up with our loss. it could have been an easy game for us. we just had a bad start during the second set and that made us tensed during the rest of the game. a lot of us wanted to win so much. i hope we'll do better next time. i feel like i was the one who brought them bad luck.

How disappointing :( But never mind, it's the referee's fault that cause your team the game.. But it's ok, as long as your team has got the team spirit and the most important of all, had fun together ^_^ hehe
It's all about sportsmanship, win or loss is just a name, wat matters is the experience.. haha ^_^
Soccer is good, it trains stamina and improve overall fitness.. haha

when your children grows up, big enough to play sports like volleyball, i'm sure you'll be able to play volleyball and other sports like it roni! its hard to be a single parent but it will pay off someday i'm sure. you just have to wait until your children are as tall as you and they'll beat you in volleyball and badminton!

My last official game was last year, in the spring, I can't remember the date, when I played in the University's mixed volleyball championship.
My team finished 3rd place, and that was a big performance for us, considering the teams from the 1st and second place were made by the University Representative players.
We even got a diploma fr it
Here's a picture of us after the competition (one of the girls is not in the photo, she had to leave)

Well, it was a surprise for everyone. We weren't expected to win anything, because the team was made on the spot, we barely knew each-other from the volleyball class.
I think we played well as a team, without any selfish playing for any of us and that's what made us win, playing as a team.

it was really depressing. but we had a disadvantage. it was mixed volleyball, for every game/set, there were three girls and three boys. the other team had a lot of substitutes for the girls. in our time, there were only three of us girls and we were playing the entire three sets! the other girls in our team didn't come to play. but still, we could have won. i think a lot of us got tensed because we had a lot of errors in the second set.
i also have some few uniforms too. i was a player of softball back in college but i wasn't varsity.

That was way back in college, an official Badminton match (which I lost by a couple of points, very frustrating). And since then, I haven't been to any games (except online and in our backyard). :D
You go girl. :)

Did your department win the volleyball game the other day?
The last sport I played was bowling. It's been about 10 years since my team disbanded so my decision was to quit the league. I do miss it and bowled well but it was time to move on.

we lost. i thought i was the jinx but on the second game which i wasn't able to play in, our team lost too. really sad because according to the audience, we could have easily won those two games since the opponent are not that good too. i just hope we can win even once.

The last time I remember was about three years ago, it was a basketball game in our subdivision. I haven't entered or joined any yet since then, got too busy. But I still play every weekends though, every afternoon along with my friends.
I also enjoyed playing volleyball back then, never joined any team nor participated in an official game.

I could hardly remember when I really played in an official game. Just like yours, our company is having a basketball tournament this coming Friday. Though many teams invited me to join their team, I have inhibited myself from joining any team and playing competitive basketball. Maybe one of the valid reason I could think of is the pain that I feel in my knees whenever I played and maybe my age (hey I'm not that old). I don't know if I could still jump and run up and down in the basketball court. Anyway just relax and enjoy your games. Well I will not say that winning is not important but I believe that how you played the game including the manner and behavior you shown inside and outside of the court matters most.

hi tholitz! maybe you have an injury and you just don't know it. or maybe its arthritis. a lot of players in our basketball team are already seniors. its kind of a requirement in all the teams. to have seniors as players. and in the game, the team is always compose of three juniors (the youngsters) and two seniors (the oldies). ^__^;;
i believe that's what's really important too. we lost but i did my best and i just enjoyed the game. although it was really depressing to have lost, i think i have enjoyed it much because i missed playing a sports.

About four years back before I ruptured my archilles tendon. I was playing Netball for my work at the time and after the second game I injured myself and couldn't play anymore. It's been years since I played nationally and do miss it from time to time.

the last game that i played officially was last year's summer football league... we only went as far as the semi-finals but it's still memorable since i got to play with my grade-school buddies again. It really became a mini reunion for us. And it was also good to see that I'm not the only one out of shape hehehe... hey secretbear, wish I could watch one of your games, I could be your water boy...or your towel boy...

I think it was a year ago when I was with the bowling team. Like you do we have our sportsfest and each group has their own teams. This year we again have one but I was not able to join because of my hand injury. I am not good in bowling but I can at least score. I am one of those replacement. I just play when there are sports activities like this. Maybe due to lack of time, I got no much time playing. Congratulations.

I used to play baseball with the people I worked with and we played in a league against other lumber yards and suppliers and such. It was a lot of fun and got very competitive at some games. I played with them for about 9 years and I just stopped playing because of my health. But my hubby, now ex-hubby, still plays with them and I sometimes would go watch him play, except not since we broke up 3 months ago. We used to have a blast and after the game we would all go to the bar and dance and have drinks. It was a lot of fun and now that you brought it up, I kinda miss it.

About 7 years ago. I played volleyball and we placed second. That was such a very long time that I don't know if i still know how to play anymore. I used to compete with my cousins in our community for volleyball leagues. I had such fun. Those were the days so to say. Would definitely welcome if I get the chance to play again.

I joined also the volleyteam in our company. Since this company is multinational it consist of many teams because there are many employees. We did not won, because the team defeated us was always the champion. I was nervous also because that was my first time and to think the team we will be played for comprises with great team. But it is good that we play heartedly and we faced them while everyone was scared to play with them.
