Hi metal_monkee! Since we're from the same country, I guess you know what will my response be. haha... I just wish we could do the old barter trade to them, we give them water for free and they give us oil for free. That would solve both our problems of high cost to both commodities, don't you think so? I sure hope it is that easy. haha..Just my thoughts kapatid. Take care and have a nice day!

hi ate faith... it would be really nice if fuel for the future will be water instead of oil we are rich in water!...if that is the case then luxury cars will be very affordable like in quatar.... ^_^ SMILE ALWAYS...

Oil prices in Qatar are low because Qatar is one of the worlds major oil producing countries, and the price comparison between oil and water probably equates to the fact there is more oil than water lol. The oil price of oil stands at $119 a barrel as of today and is predicted to reach $200 a barrel by the end of the year due to the poor value of the $US and the failing US economy.

I agree. I am from the Philippines and it is frustrating that prices of basic commodities including petroleum products are very expensive. In one of my travels abroad, I have learned that water is indeed expensive in most middle eastern nations. Water is indeed more expensive than oil. The reason for this is simple. Oil is abundant while water is scarce in that area of the world. Based on the law on supply and demand, when supply is higher than demand, prices tend to be low. On the other hand, when the demand is higher than supply, prices tend to be high.

I can believe that about Qatar which is a hot dry country where fresh water is scarce and precious but oil is a natural resource and is plentiful. In the U.K. we have a lot of rain so water is cheap. Fuel is expensive because a lot of it has to be imported and it is heavily taxed.

China is a big country and the climente isn't the same province, some provinces and more rain, some less rainfall, water prices are different in the world, water is non-renewable resources, water is very valuable. In China, oil is also very expensive, annual imports from other countries a lot of oil. If water and oil,in China,i think the oil more expensive!
