i have just started reading the book War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. i am not new to reading large novels and have read a lot of large novels of even size of 2000 pages.
i had read the lord of the rings in a single day aal the 1300 pages. the problem is i have only read about 200 pages and am already confused. for every two-three pages i read there is a new character and i am not able to remember who he is or what he had done before. can anybody help, i have a nice memory but this one is an equal match....

I understand what you are talking about. I too, read the Lord of the Rings quickly, although it took me more like a week; however when I attempted War and Peace I became so confused, I would think I had the story strait and then Lord so and so would enter and I would go, 'now wait where did he come from?'. If you are just reading the book for the fun of it, maybe you should consider putting it down. However if you have to read it for school or just want the challenge try
