Do you feel shy of your cell phone simply because it is an old model?

Not in the least. It might have to do their fathers or forefathers. (I am talking about teenagers who flaunt it the most). If it would be possible I would rather not have it at all. Sometimes it feels irritated even with the best of models. lol..

You just spoke my mind. I feel a phone should be anything but a phone. Why do we need so many gadgets into one phone!! We have MP4s, computers, digital cameras...then why all in one! This rather spoils the true essence of it.
It feels very bad when I see people just fingering with the keys of phone trying to do something great! And guess what they are totally oblivion of what is happening around!

Hi bala. How are you? Actually, my husband had to "force" me to change my old cell phone by suddenly buying me a new one. I constantly refused for months to listen to him to change my old phone. I told him repeatedly that even if my old phone was lacking in colored fonts, has no built-in camera and voice and video recorder, I still love it. Actually it has a Spongebob Squarepants design and that's why I was hesitant to change it.
My motto at that time was as long as I can send text messages and receive them, and my old phone still can accept calls, I won't "let it rest in peace".

Hi again bala!I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. It's unfair for my old cellphone to be replaced just like that. I've had it for years and even though it had its share of being dropped on the floor, it still works.

I got the phone that I wanted that suited what I needed... something that works (good reception) and something that is thin that fits in my pocket without being an eyesore (sticking out).
Most people I talk to don't like the type of phone that I have and that is OK 'cause it works for me and that is all that I care about.
Now if it was pink or had flowers on it I might be a little 'shy' about using it but I use a headset anyway so it very rarely leaves my pocket.
Thanks
Zelo

I am not very shy of my old Nokia cell phone though some people would like to suggest that I get a new one, but I always tell them that my cell phone works very well for the time being and that I won't try to get a new one unless it does not work properly in receiving signals and poor in battery quality. I have been using my cell phone for three years almost and I am sure that it will still be able to be in good use in another couple of years if it is taken good care of without letting it fall down to the ground by being careless. Good day.

If my old cell hadn't kicked the bucket, I'd still be using it.
As it is, I bought a new one with a camera and blue tooth. I didn't want to pay the $80 for a cell phone (I deducted the $50 rebate from the price) but considering the alternatives, it's great!
People flaunt their cell phones? Maybe they need a life.

no,i don't think it has something to do with their success in life.as we know, price of cell phone is so cheap that even the lattest style of a modern one doesn't cost much.
i don't think cell phone is a good tool to flaunt one's wealth.for a smart person, the best cell phone rather lies in the fitness not the appearance.

Not really, I still have my old cell phone and I have no intention of changing phones until mine breaks. The cell phone doesn't describe who you are as a person.

I don't think that the model of cellphones reflect the lifestyle of the person who owns it. Especially here from where I live - smuggled phones are everywhere and you can get the latest model for 1/5 of its original price. I'm not ashamed of using old models because I think cellphones should be used for their function, not the style or the price. As long as it can send text messages and call, I'm fine with it.

WHy should I be embarrased by the model of my phone or for that matter the other things in my life as long as they work. I mean, how much do you actually need from your phone? I want my phone to be able to call out and recieve calls. I do want it to recieve and send text messages. My only indulgence from a phone would be its ability to take photos. Other than that I don't need super intelligent phones that can tell me what the weather is everytime I go outdoors.
Seriously, why the hell do people fell the the need to put their self-esteem into gadgets. A person who needs the newest phone for the sake of wanting new goodies probably has a very low self-esteem and a bigger wallet than comon sense.

No, I am not because I am not really fond of new gadgets so I really don't mind if my cellphone is somewhat old. The important thing is i can still use it when I need to.

Hi there my fellow my lotter, hope you are having a great time as well. I just want to say that I don't feel shy about my cellular phone because it is an old model. I am still a student and I tend to use these only on important matters like making calls to my mother who is currently working abroad. Oh my, how I miss her so and I've been longing to see her soon. I will do my best in my studies so that I could buy the latest brands or models of cellphone. ^_^

let's admit that having the newer brand gives us a sleek lift. let us give it to them too. they have all the bragging rights for having those new breed of phones on their palms. let us be happy that they are happy. as long as they dont look down on us, implicate harm on us, just be.
on the other hand, no need to worry for carrying the older model of phones. it may reflect a lot of things or it may reflect nothing. It will all depend on how people sees the situation in their perspective.
I had to change phones once when I got promoted due to a couple of things - 1. features and benefits of my new phone will fit my new role 2. peer pressure 3. marketing - from pre-paid, i had a post-paid line so I had no problems getting a new phone since it is free, 4. etc.
Does it reflect success? well, before we can go into this, we should be able to define what success is all about. then, we can answer this objectively.
Cheers!
