Our standing plans here are generally to go out to eat to celebrate Mother's Day. This year, however, we felt really pretty sick. I didn't want to go out, but we did go get a bite to eat and drive around. I wanted her to know that I respect her as a mother, even if I didn't feel up to doing very much.

I told them all that I want a JC Penney gift card if they plan to get me anything. I seen some really nice clothes there and I would like to have them but I want to go get them so I can look at sale items too. I hope that they don't do something different and not get me what I want.

I could never do that. I enjoy surprises, and would hate to know exactly what I'm going to get. My husband has asked for gift ideas and I give him a long list of items that vary in price so he may choose. That way I am surprised, but still get something I wanted or needed.

We or I have no plans for me as my fiance's mom supersedes me. She has invited us to her house because her other son is coming up from Cali and so is her sister. So we will spend the day with them-bbq.
Me and my kids have never met her sister and her son is sometimes difficult. But we will have a positive attitude and make it the best.
My kids have a hard time because it is boring-they are 17, 16, 12, 7, & 4.

Unfortunatly, my Mother's Day always goes overlooked. My wedding anniversary is May 7th, and we usually spend all our extra money on going out to a restaurant and/or movie. Then, my birthday is May 12th, which falls during the same pay week as Mother's Day. Occasionally I'm lucky enough to get a gift or something for that, but it's usually a birthday/Mother's Day combined gift.
My oldest son's birthday is May 13th, also during the same pay week as Mother's Day. Of course that is where the majority of our free funds go.
I don't really mind, it's always been that way, and celebrating my son's birthday is far more important to me. I am happy just to have a day off from my regular chores :)
