I Need A Third Hand

Tonight for dinner I decided to steam some veggies. I had the new steam in the bag veggies from a certain famous brand (cough jolly giant spokesperson cough). The directsion said to remove the package from the microwave holding the two red dots at the top. Then, while holding by said dots over serving dish, I was supposed to tear along the notch just below one of the dots. Sorry, my both hands were occupied holding the red dots. I just couldn't not get my feet up there to tear either. So, I need a third hand. Anyone coordinated enough to do what the package says to do? I just gave up, held it by one corner and tore the other hand with my now free hand.
