How would you grow old gracefully?

My dad called me today. My mom wasn't home, and he was in need of a ride somewhere. No problem.. I went to pick him up. In the car he told me that my mom was "going to be mad" at him. I asked why. He told me that she doesn't think that he's growing old gracefully.... I haven't talked to my mom yet today, but I'm curious as to why she thinks that.. They have a full social life of friends for being retired. They go on lots of trips together. However, you'll NEVER see my dad in a mall!! My mom likes to shop..I wonder if that's what makes her grow old gracefully....... What is it that you would do to grow old gracefully??
